Flight and Fright
Today, I was 5 mns. into a signing when I nearly jumped out of my skin feeling something land on my shoulder. When I recovered my wits and dared turn my head there was this beautiful cockatiel looking back at me. It's owners said they have never seen him do that with a stranger. He played with my hair and my earring for a while then flew back to his cage. I am used to being surrounded by cats or dogs but this was my first bird.

You can't trust Birds. There was Pedro, who called
the Moms cell phone ring tone first, and when I paused and asked if she needed to answer that? She rolled her eyes and ignored the ring with a smirk - so the stack was steadily getting signed [between talking with the delightful teen twins who asked great questions,] then Dad's cell-song sounded. I paused and inquired again, and after the household stopped giggling, Dad confessed....
You guessed it - Pedro 'calling.'
Turns out he foolied the dog too - "Here, Jack, IT'S B-A-C-O-NNN!"
Jack runs to Pedro's 'house'..."pantpantsittingpretty-ohboyohboyohbo...
"Hahahahahaha..."
Poor Jack.
Miss your posts, nice to see you here again.

Since I have birds, that's often one of the first things I comment on when I see a cage. That and dog tales. The biggest problem with uncaged birds is poop, especially when they land on your head or shoulder. I always check my back when I've been visited.
And since that bird found you friendly, you must be a very compassionate person. They, like cats, are very sensitive to people's vibes.

OMG! I'm glad it was a bird. I first thought you were going to say it was a spider!!! Sorry you had the scare though.
