I hate mass emails for jobs

This company pays well and has a good rating but in the last year or so I never ever get the job, today replied within TWO MINUTES and got the reply already filled. That did it for me, asked them to remove me from list since I never get the job why bother.

A lot of companies seem to be doing that these days, not just them. When I questioned a company as to why, I was told it's a real time saver ...........

I used to work, occasionally, for a company that did this. I used to always get the job but then I started never getting the job. I called them up & asked why & they said the system was automatically staggered so that the lowest priced notary's were notified first. The higher priced notary's (by even $1.00) would receive the notice at least 2 minutes later. That time difference was enough to knock me out of consideration, & since my fee was already as low as I wanted to go, I just bailed out entirely. The company was Mortgage Docs. They do it a little bit differently now but not by much & their pricing model now takes even more advantage of they're notary's, in my opinion.

I get some of them and they post ridiculously low fees. I always reply with my fee. Never hear back. Got an email today about an available job near me. It was from the same company who called me last night, but wouldn't meet my fee. When I saw the email- I called to see if it was still available. Another notary undercut me by alot, he is traveling further than I would and I hope he knows the package is well OVER 150 PAGES with fax backs. No wonder they didn't want to give me the signing. This notary is losing money on this deal.

I agree. I get those too. If I didn't have a Blackberry that I read during the day, I wouldn't know these offers are being sent out. Why don't they call for their orders. I have lost a lot of orders recently by being undercut with fees under $100 in California.

I wish there was a way that we would all agree on a fee and stop undercutting each other. I think they are the newbies and will take anything at any price. Then I find I get called to go in and fix their mistakes.

I support everyone who starts out, I was one of those at one point but we can't keep taking fees that aren't even paying our expenses let alone give us a profit. I know I am not surviving in this market with the increase in gas fees etc.

I need to find another stream of income and business inspection fees are a joke at $30 or $40.

Just so it is clear to everyone, we do not pick notaries based on what they will take for the job. We set the price once email is sent out, it does not change. Relationships are built on performance. We utilize the email system for many reasons-

1. We do over 300 closings per month and would need a call center to call for every signing
2. Emails are normally responded to by professional closers with the proper tools (smart phones) necessary for the job.
3. The closer knows exactly what to expect from the closing
4. Gives our company viable options if a closer decides not to show or has emergency and cannot perform closing because we have others who responded that they are available.

* We pay above average and always within 30 days
* We build relationships and call on our regulars direct

Keep trying to win the closing, it is in your best interest because when you do a good job for us we will call you direct!

"Keep trying to win the closing,"

I have a problem with that phrase...sound as this is now an auction...win the bid...reverse bid?

Just my mind wandering around the elephant in the room.

I understand completely, shouldn't have used that term. What I really mean is get a job and show us that you are competent and we will call you direct. We use emails for areas that we do not have personal contacts yet. We have many people in PA, NJ, FL, NY, GA , MA that we call exclusively because they started a relationship with us and we can count on them. Unfortuantely in this business you deal with yourself, we deal with thousands of people and A Lot of them aren't proficient. This gives us the opportunity to get the proficient ones, give them business and pay them well. We gladly pay well and on time...

If I were a title company or lender and the signing service I use was "Cattle-Calling" instead of vetting a competent SA I would drop them immediately.
