Nationwide Notary Signing Service

I had posted about this company earlier, didn't find them in signing central. Anyway, a witness is required for a signing today, even though California is a non witness state because the docs are being recorded in Virginia. Well, the borrower is having trouble finding a witness, doesn't want his neighbors to know his business. So, the scheduler wants to know if I have someone who can do it, for a fee. I say no. Then she wants to know if I WOULD SIGN AS THE WITNESS BUT USE A DIFFERENT NAME! I tell her that it's illegal and unethical and she agrees, then I say "Then how can you ask me to do such a thing?" She tells me that the borrower asks her if that was possible.
Anyway, after I hang up with her, I start getting more and more upset about this. I call her up and tell her that I feel uneasy with her suggesting that I sign someone else's name on a document and to get another notary. First time I have ever renigged on a signing that I have ever accepted and hope it's the last.
I'll know better than to accept a signing from this company.

Agree - witnesses not required in VA

Not sure why they said you needed a witness? Weird on many levels. Good for you for declining the job.

The scheduler kept saying Virginia even though the docs were headed to Georgia.

Do not work for this company. They still have not paid me for 2 jobs I did for them in February. Both phone numbers go to a voice mail stating to leave your number and they will return your call the next day. Yeah, right.
