Well....

... since "transvaginal" has now become part of the American lexicon, thanks to the VA Legislature, I can't imagine anyone being offended by the relatively tame "Men's Reproductive Health or Sex" (except maybe men).

In any case, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were an Ohio notary as far as getting more work, cos this bill likely will never pass. (Tho ya never know!) In any case, once all these fight-back bills hit the airwaves, we could move this discussion to JP!

Re: Well.... Maybe that should happen now!

Ladies (i.e. Susan and Mia), as you both well know, one of the reasons the JP page was begun was to keep the vitriol off this page. Susan, I do think you may have jumped the gun on assuming Mia's intent with posting that message and Mia... My goodness, the venom was practically dripping off the page - and I thought it was uncalled for, even if Susan jumped to conclusions.

In spite of what happens "over there", please try to take postings on this page at face value, however difficult that might be. We can all agree or disagree on any topic - and we do on nearly every post. But it's not that hard to make your case about the issue(s) as hand without getting personal or assuming intent not in evidence. Really..., it isn't!

Re: Well.... Maybe that should happen now!

Janet, just go over to JP and read Susan Fischer' posts, then read the responses.
You will see a trend.
My OP was benign -- I had no hidden agenda.
There was absolutely no reason for her (Susan Fischers) response -- other than to be
argumentative. She didn't care about the content of my post, all she cared about was
to stir up trouble (which is her MO).

Thanks for the reminder, Janet. My apologies to all for

adding my afterthought. It was not appropriate, and I'm sorry.

I stand by my (non-parenthetical) professional statement as a Notary Public regarding Notarizing, not analyzing.

Again everyone, I'm sorry for crossing the line.

A Notary's job is to correctly Notarize a signature

not analyze the document's "political," or cultural origin.

[It is not a political issue, Mia, it's an Affidavit - akinto the permission slips women had to get from their husbands to get tubal ligations. It's the insertion of legislators into the privacy of the doctor/patient examination rooms, regardless of sex. Doesn't society think both the men AND women should be as healthy as possible?]

As usual Susan Fischer, you have it wrong

Now read really slow..... this is what I said.
"Ohio Notaries may have to notarize signatures on Affidavits if this Bill passes"

And, I did NOT make this a Political issue. This was just an FYI to Ohio Notaries.
So, you don't need to worry about it Susan Fischer, now run along and try to
start trouble somewhere else.

Now, Now ladies.

That's why my posts are usually one sentance or less. I get in less trouble that way.

Issues pertaining to reproduction and contraception are currently among the hottest political topics.

Legislation is introduced in every state legislature every session that requires the execution of affidavits. There appears to be no reason to single this one out for mention here except for its political implications.

Given Mia's history in this forum of enthusiastically applauding those of her political persuasion who have posted political matter here, it is a logical conclusion that this is of the same genre.

Politically oriented material belongs in Just Politics. This thread is an excellent example of the vitriol that characterizes that forum, and is a harbinger of what will occur here if political posts continue.

Who owns this board?
Harry or Hugh?
Once again Hugh takes an issue that pertains to our business and turns it into politics!
Reference msg 413437 where Hugh takes the word CAMERA and turns it into CONSERVATIVE.
Seems to me that Freedom of Speech applies to only one person in Austin, and those that agree with him.

Unfortunately, neither literacy nor reading comprehension is a requirement for posting to this board, a fact that some posters' offerings continue to drive home.

For those who have not read it, Message #413437 was a tongue-in-cheek post poking fun at myself for obsessing on political posts in this forum. The subject of the post had nothing to do with politics.

Much like some people's posts have nothing to do with common sense.

Well then...

If "politically oriented material belongs in Just Politics", then we will have
to take all the "Discuss Work" posts to JP.
ALL Notary Public Laws come from State (Political) Legislation..........
