I use Brother 5240 (new model# is 5340) must order tray separately Brother part # LT5300. I have 2 of these printers, the oldest has printed over 70,000 pages and still working fine. I order supplies, toner and drum unit, from amazon and have never had any quality problems.

Same here. I picked up a couple of 5240's that were on clearance a while back from Office Max.
I avoided Brother printers in the beginning because of the drum replacement issues. I get toner carts & refurbished drums from LD products.
I've found these printers to be very cost effective to operate--low prices on toner carts, etc.
If you do a search on "printers" you will pull up a lot of previous discussions. Good luck. :-)

I've had brother printers, have always had good luck.

Costco is having a sale online for one right now:

I'm not sure when I bought the first one where I got the second tray but I was able to use it from my original 5240 to the newer 5300 series.

That's weird, they look like the same printer. I have two 5340's and a MFC6490cw, I've never had any problems but I know a lot of people here prefer HP products. If you have a 2nd tray for your 5370 you will probably be able to use it on the 5340, check the specs at brother, if it's LT-5300 you're good to go.

HP1300 > I have been using the same printer since 2004. Love it love it. Don't know what i'm going to do when it breaks down; but I pray it keeps on shooting out those legal and letter as I need the. HP doesn't make this model any more.

Great buy. It's not wireless, for those who need it. I've

found that the 5000 series printers about very similar, with slightly different features.
Every now & then you can find a DNT (the "t" is for extra tray). Most of these models use the LT-5300 tray.

Brother 5370 DWT-Swear by it!

This thing rocks. I'm on my 2nd. After the drum died I just bought another printer. Cost is almost the same!
Also, a big plus is the high yield cartridges you can get on Amazon for $25

IMO there's no need to replace a printer instead of a drum.

I get remanufactured drums at LD Products & they are cheap. I could never afford the prices at the office supply stores. I think Amazon offers the drums, too.

I LOVE my Brother MFC-8460N. I use 2 of them. Toners are under $19.00 for 8,000 pages, has a legal size copy and scanner, and work them to death with no jams or issues. A new drum is $25.00 online as well.
I believe the cost is still under $300.00. I haven't replaced mine in years, and still going strong!
I print about 5000 sheets per month legal, so they get a work out, and need to change the drum maybe every year and a half if that.
