Question for Florida Notaries
I just had a call from a gentleman who needs, among other things, a copy of his driver's license, front and back, notarized. (He wants to make the copy at my house which is, in this particular instance, okay). My concern is, what kind of notary statement do I use or do I just ask him if he wants to swear that that is his driver's license or just acknowledge to it? Or, do I even ask him that question? I cannot just put my stamp and seal on a piece of paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.

YOU must make the photocopy and attach the cert as set out in the manual.

You are making a copy of a copy. Florida has the original. So to get a proper copy it needs to come the state agency that issues it. An, aside, I doubt that he is allowed to have a second copy of his drivers license, even though it is in the same name. This is Texas NOT Florida. But I would be carefull.

no, its not a copy of a copy - its a copy of his original driver's license.

When the state issues a driver license, they aren't giving
a certified copy... They are giving you the only original.
