The oddest thing happened today...

I receivd a call to do a signing for Friday morning in my own town. It was from TC that I did a signing for last year and it was a bad experience. They paid me half my fee becaussee they did not like the quality of the photocopy of the ID and secondly the borrower did not sign the required Automatic payment form. Oh before I forget the borrower did not have a checking account. In any event. I made a mental note note to work for them again .... ever..

Obviously, they did not make the same note not to call me. I was shocked and probably should have mentioned this. However, I just said I will be out of town on Friday morning.. Then the oddest thing happened. He said. Okay... Well if the time and date changes, I will call you back.

Now how do you like them apples?

Not something I'd tell a stranger over the phone, whether or not it's true. A better answer is "My calender is full" or "I'm booked" or "I have a full schedule".

If fact, I should have just told him the truth which is that

I don't work for people who stiff me for half of my fee for some ridiculous reason as they claim.

But I do get your point and again, I thank you.

I am still shocked by the gall of this man considering the last email I sent him. But then maybe he does business like this all the time.
