This time I'm glad the closing got cancelled
The closing was originally scheduled for 5 pm, but borrower asked to move it up to 4:30. No problem, everyone OK with the change. About the time I'm ready to call on the status of the docs (about 3), the Title company calls and tells me the lender has cancelled. DRAT! Third closing this month to cancel.
BUT WAIT. About 4 pm, as I'm sitting doing marketing paperwork/research and listening to the ballgames on tv, the weather warning system goes off on the tv. Cue thunderstorm accompanied by pea-sized hail. About 30 minutes later, the entire county is under a tornado warning and the warning isn't supposed to end until about 2 hours later.
In the end, along with heavy, nasty winds a twister did touch down in one area within 5 miles of the borrower's location and again about 10 miles from the borrower's residence. Luckily no fatalities or serious injuries out of this storm and tornadoes, but a lot of material damage.
