Why is it day after day
Why do so many people have so much troubles with brother printer? I think that is why I am a HP printer fan. just my 2cents.

Again, mixed reviews. I had an older HP (4000 series) that I just could not get to do the job. I've been using Brother printers (5000 series) without nearly as many issues. :-)

Also, many other issues. Type of computer, operating
system, version of Adobe, etc. Don't we just love all the compatability issues that are inherent with computers? LOL

Forget brand preference, operating system, etc. What you really need is a printer that likes your vibe. For instance, we have several HP printers in our home. Whenever I have a problem with one, I call my husband in. At that point, he does exactly what I was trying to do, but it works for him. We call it the "laying on of hands".
It's uncanny - no matter what frustration I'm experiencing, or what piece of equipment I'm working with, my husband can come in and it works WITHOUT HIM DOING A THING DIFFERENT !
I'm still trying to figure it out . . . . an aura? a magnetic field?
Got any ideas?

"an aura? a magnetic field? "
That works for me - there are those with an aura that interferes with the magnetic field surrounding any and all mechanical equipment. It is just part of life. LOL

Lania, I can empathize. My husband forbids me to touch his computer because I seem to have an electric current that causes mishaps with all things electronic. I also have a documented "brown thumb" and can't grow a thing.

Re: MUST BE A SLOW END OF MONTH IN OREGON
if all you've got to do is comment/bash a printer you DON'T have. Didn't you have a brother and return it? Please think of all of us Brother owners while you're clearing your next paper jam from your HP, and spending big bucks for toner and other consumables..............

Re: I have two brother printers - no problems at all
Up until yesterday, I had no problems with my Brother 8680, but I finally bought the optional paper tray and no matter what we do, I can't get it to use both trays. I set it up exactly as instructed. Going to try customer support today, but I read on NotRot someone called them and they said you can't print two sizes of paper from one file. Aaarrgg!

Re: Don't fret
I or someone here will talk you through the setup. I added LT5300 to an 8xxx series MFC and it's working just fine. I'm mobile and can't help at moment , but I'll be in touch over weekend if noone else responds. Brother is NOT familiar with the .PDF software so are not able to assist., and just say it can't be done. IT CAN!

Re: Glad I could help, just.......
DON'T EVER turn off your computer, printer, or slam the door, or it will ALL go away! Of course I'm kidding. LOL. Everything will will stick just fine. Enjoy the 2nd tray. It makes printing sooo much easier.
