Wrong information on documents

Lately I have been receiving loan documents with the wrong address on it. Today I went to a closing that the borrowers were refinancing their 3 rental properties. The first 2 were fine, but the last one's address was incorrect address number was wrong by 1 by number. The borrowers signed the papers, but I found out that they will probably have to sign new loan documents for that 1. I didn't catch that it was the wrong address until I was at the table with borrowers since it was a rental. I usually catch it before the signing. This has not happened to me before, I feel bad that they will probably have to resign again.

Re: not your fault

Ditto. We don't have any way to confirm a correct address from an incorrect address. It's a invconvenience for the borrrowers, but hopefully, you'll get two signings out of it!

I caught one the other day on a vesting problem on two Quick Claim Deeds " as Husband and Wide" was written in. I had them send corrected Docs. It for sure saved a second trip. I asked for a $15 buck bump in my pay for saving the trip charge. Not only did they say no, but they said it was part of my job..and you would think at minimum they would say Thank-you, but not even that... Next time I see a mistake on their docs I will ignore it and get a full trip charge out of them

At Clem: Wrong information on documents

I too saved them recently where it was a man and it was worded as "John H. Doe, a married woman &" ! I mean, come on, not only saying he is a woman but adding an ampersand too and no-one caught it?

On the other hand, I didn't expect extra money for this, I was just glad I was able to get them to allow me to correct it since I already had printed out the docs and initially the signing company said "Oh, so sorry you printed them out, that wording needs to be corrected and will have to be redrawn." I was able to convince him to call Title Co. and they approved my having borrower line thru and initial showing "married man."

Re: At Clem: Wrong information on documents

Interesting... You never know. I too have found either blatant errors or items in question (after all I am not lender or title) and sometimes they are happy and sometimes very annoyed that you should dare to question. So you never know. Egos can be a funny (not) thing. Just happened this w/e with a QCD/Mortgage.

QUIT Claim deed

Most likely if the doc was returned incorrect and someone saw the error later on down the line, they would just reprint page 1 if signatures were not on that page. Many quit claim deeds are 2-pagers so it would be no problem.
