I did one for them in 2011 - weird instructions to sign in blue ink but all printing and any corrections must be in black ink. I do remember that was a PITA when completing my notary certs in black ink, but then signing in blue ink. Switching pens back and forth was crazy. They paid $125 on that job, but just called me for another one and would not budge over $100. I declined, and accepted a higher-paying closing with another company for that time slot.
According to my 2011 records, they paid me in 17 days.

The black/blue thing is something many of us do in Michigan (Great Lakes Notary is in Michigan). Long story short, recording requirements state docs must be printed in black ink. Some people interpret that to mean ANY printing, including anything WE print or correct, must be black. But we sign in blue to distinguish originals from copies. I used to hate it, but I'm so used to the pen switch now. Always a fun conversation when a borrower asks what in the world I'm doing.
Great Lakes - like them, easy to work with, no fuss, nice people, just don't hear from them too often.
