holding up documents

I was just told by a signing service that some notaries are holding borrowers documents until they have received payment.

If this is true, it certainly unfair to the borrowers!

If that's true, then I would suggest to these signing

services that they report the notary to the respective state SOS and possibly file a claim against the notary's bond. If these are loan documents these notaries are holding, this is impeding funding, causing borrowers to incur additional fees and the notaries could possibly face penalties, fines and potential jail terms.

IMO (and just MHO) holding docs is illegal and any notary doing it should be held accountable and severely sanctioned by the state.

How can we sit on docs until we get paid?

Some of my compaines pay every 2 weeks or 15 days. Then I would have to wait longer if the check is late. Sitting on does for that is ridiculous. Loans need to fund NOW! I can't believe anyone is actually doing that. (Unless they are a brand new notary and a complete ignoramus.)
