slow printing problems solved

I reported some time ago about slow printing with my Brother HL5370DW printer.

It would print a page or two at a time in a large package then pause then another page.

I ordered and installed a 512 MB sdram 144 pin chip ( $20)

Back to printing 32 pages a minute now.

Your message was very helpful. I have that printer and it seems to be slowing down.

Do you install the chip in the printer itself and how difficult is it? You found it on Amazon?

Thank you for sharing this information.

The last page of your instilation manual that came with your printer describes the type of chip you need to buy.

If you go to Brothers web site and download the manual for your printer and go to chapter 5 and it tells you how to install the chip.

There is a door on the left side of the printer, if you open it you will see a place for a chip. You hold the chip by the edges, careful not to touch the chip itself then insert the chip at a 45 degree angle, lift it up till it clicks. that's it. First you have to turn your printer off and disconect it from your computer.

The memory chip i purchased from amazon was a Komputerbay 512MB SDRAM SODIMM (144 Pin) sold by Komputerbay and it only cost me $20
