Beware Nations Signature Closers - Admin Fee!

Remember last summer when NSC sent out an email and said they were charging a $25 Administration fee if you wanted to be part of their network? They weren't one of my Top 10 - so I sent a response email and declined to pay their fee - why should I pay to work for you??

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago - I got a call from NSC - to do a closing that was not in my local area. I told the scheduler that they probably would want to call someone else - as they never meet my fee... he said they had already called everyone else they had listed and could not find anyone to go. He met my fee - I did the closing - all is good. That is UNTIL I get the check for the closing - the $25 Administration Fee was deducted from the fee!! I will say that I had forgotten all about the fee.

So... just wanted to put a warning out there - if you haven't paid the fee and accept a closing - you might want to up your fee by $25.

My thought is they called me - they went "off-list" by their choice and I shouldn't have had to pay the fee. Anyone else feel the same??

Absolutely.

This is wrong. You declined. They hired you anyway after you declined. They owe you $25.

Was the fee mentioned in the confirmation? If not, then they have changed the terms of the job to suit their whim. That is wrong.....utterly wrong.

Demand your $25! That's ridiculous that they would deduct

this ADMIN FEE from your check without first telling you, which is what I'm assuming. Even if you did forget about it way back when. They should've been upfront when they called you about their supposed admin fee. For me, any company that charges an nsa to be "listed" with their company is a huge scam. Its just another low ball tactic to justify lowering your already low or adjusted nsa fee!

Why should we have to pay for work? Hello!?!

And yes, you're right since they called you, and not on their preferred list, they shouldn't have deducted this fee. So they just assumed you'd be okay with the deduction, and did you a favor? WTH! I'd be all over their a$$ like white on rice!

Get your money honey!

That's a lousy scam to deduct the fee. After all, they

could purposely call many notaries, use them one time, and collect a fee. I'd make a huge issue of it if you didn't sign any agreement saying you would pay their fee.
I'm not happy at all with these companies that are looking for new ways to make money from our efforts. :-( Their cut of the fee should be enough. If it's not they need to get out of the biz.

outrageous! just a thought: when you contact them you might

suggest they look at the comments their actions have garnered here.

Unless you agreed to the $25 admin fee they've breached their contract with you. Never heard of them but will make sure never to accept anything from them.

They did the same exact thing to me last year. Not only did they never reimburse me the $25, they did not respond to any of my emails or phone calls about it. I have not worked for them since. Very deceiving, unprofessional and sneaky.

I was just wondering....

the other day whatever happened to these scumbags. You think they're bad now..... they so infuriated me with their unprofessionalism and abuse and ever declining fees and ramped up babysitting that I totally fired them a few years ago. One of my best NSA moves ever! I was so happy to get rid of them even tho they called constantly with jobs.

I didn't think they could get worse, but apparently so!

(Remember when Lance, one of their corporate guys came on NR and called us all a bunch of monkeys and whiners?)

Right up there with Henry Davidson, who wants to be my "friend" on LinkedIn. Fat chance.

Suggest that those NSA's scammed visit ripoffreport.com

and report them, if they are not already listed. And if not, WHY NOT?

Or report this SS to the BBB so they can investigate? Online reputations are everything to any businesses in this day and age, anyone and everyone that has a smart phone, email or is otherwise "online" will see how terrible this company really is, and will avoid using their services.

The fact that they keep getting away with this practice, doesn't really surprise me, because there are just so many who use the excuse that they are just too busy or its not worth it...excuses excuses excuses!

Google will also allow one to rate this company, as well as filing a business complaint with the SOS of their headquartered state, and filing a complaint with the state's AG!

It may seem like more trouble than its worth, but seriously, you all that have been scammed MUST complain, otherwise they will keep getting away with it, bottom line.

Thank you all for your responses - I have a pretty terse email message ready to go - and it will be sent - obviously it won't do much good except for the fact that I now won't have to worry about how to fit something else into my schedule the next time they call!!

I keep all of my confirmations - so I will attach that document - as well as a link here - although I'm sure they know what most think of them. As I said in my OP - they never meet my fee - I should have KNOWN something was up - they knew they would be deducting $25 from it anyway! Ugghh!!

idea for us

Why not give us the phone # and just have all of us start calling them? We don't need to be rude or anything. We just call them and say, hi, I'm a friend of Melissa's. You owe her $25. Please pay her promptly so I don't have to keep calling and reminding you.

I think if enough of us do that, they will get tired of it. Most of us have unlimited minutes. Anyway, we work hard for our money and I think we can make a difference. I am happy to do this if you want.

LOL-"idea for us" thats hysterical..

I am really sick enough to just love this idea. It's really not right that they just take it upon themselves. It's so incredibly underhanded.

There is a website called RipOffReport.com. Why not report the thieving cheats?

They've been good to me! I don't recall any problems that

did not get resolved, quickly, and those were few. I've worked for them several times over the last few years, and don't believe that I paid that $25 fee, for I certainly did not intend to do so. My check for a signing in April included $25 for printing, but not the $75 for signing. I called and was quickly told that an error had transpired on their part, and I'd receive the $75 in the next regular payment. It came today and included that $75 and the agreed amount for another signing. I'm a happy camper.

Re: They've been good to me! I don't recall any problems that

I just did one for them last month. Met my fee, did not deduct the $25 fee, got the check yesterday, deposited it today. They called me today and left a msg (I was at a funeral all day and did not answer my phone) that they had a batch of checks go out that were unsigned. If my check was unsigned, don't deposit it but send it back and they will re-issue another one. Ugh. I had deposited it this morning. I went back to the bank and got the check back. Wonder where their quality control is???

Re: They've been good to me! I don't recall any problems that

Thanks for all of your replies - I sent the email, I called, so far no response. However, like Linda - I received the same call about a batch of checks going out that had not been signed. She asked if I had received and deposited. I said I'll check - pretty sure it was signed tho, but since I have you on the phone - and I started to talk about the $25 - she was quick to point out that she didn't handle that issue... she put me on hold, came back and said you need to speak to Alexandra - she transferred me - I waited 5 mins - the line disconnected. I called right back - dialed the extension she gave me - extension does not exist in their phone system. Hmmm... I guess she thought I would go away! She really doesnt know me very well!
