Is it necessary to get certified thru National Notary to be a signing agent?

Certification required? No.
Through NNA? No

Question is what type of loan experience do you have? If none, then a certification course is a good idea so you know what you're talking about at the table with the borrowers. On the other hand, if you have previous experience, certification may not even be necessary...I'd be the last person to tell a former career escrow closer that they need to be certified before they can do this job.

Depends on how much you know - or don't know.

Great advice! Thanks, Linda. I'm just starting out -- have worked in the loan department several years ago in the loan dept., but other than that no recent experience.

Please feel free to pass along any other good advice you may have.
