Don't get it!

There are a few posts this morning about good days or months.

Why is it that ME/NJ gets in deep trouble for the same thing?

I like hearing the day to day...I'm just here for the water cooler.

I was wondering precisely the same thing

A little bit of the local economic reporting goes a long way with me. The areas we serve are so diverse, the housing climate so different in each, that I draw little usable information from such posts.

Nonetheless, I do wonder why Mike draws such intensely negative responses, and others don't.

And, Mike...please don't take this as an invitation to double down on the daily/weekly/monthly reports.

Re: Don't get it!...my thought...

Because everyone comments about how busy or dead their EOM is/was - once a month....it's a far cry from the daily report that was being given.

Re: Linda, you've known me long enough to realize that

And here's hoping that doesn't change! Smile

As for ME/NJ, I think it was a just a bit TMI. I feel there's a difference between saying "this has been the busiest EOM since 8-tracks were hot technology!" (or something...) and frequent reports, with actual numbers that might be much better or much worse than the next person. Generic relative feedback can be useful from time to time, but everyone's circumstances are different - and a constant reporting of how many appointments one does or doesn't have isn't useful, imo, (unless you happen to be that person's boss).

Somewhere along the line, I believe TMI can cross from being helpful and informative into sounding like whining and/or bragging. After a while, either can become unpleasant. A little less of it probably wouldn't have caused any comment. (Sorry Michael...)

Good points. I'm reminded of a post eight or so years ago

around tax-time; he posted everything on his return but his SSN.

I thought it was way TMI, and posted so, (sorry again, poster,) and hoping these perspectives help Michael edit his contributions.

I really don’t care what color socks ME/NJ wore today, or that he only had 22 signings and that’s slow for him…I think for some his posts are not only dull, but lack credibility. I could be wrong, but that’s my take.
Your posts on the other hand are informative, entertaining, and far too few.JMO

Final observations

Just for grins, I calculated the daily rate of posting of all in this thread by looking at the last 200 posts made by a poster (on DW only) and the time span it covered. Aside from Shoshana, ME posts at a significantly lower ratethan any of the others in this thread.

Conclusions:

-Sho should post more.

-It's probably that fractional 1/3 of a daily post that Mike makes that irritates people.

-I still don't know how to post a "fraction" of a post...but, obviously, I do one full post and a 3/4 post each day.

-Without us, there would be 2K less posts on this board since last November 26.

-I had time to make 200 (+ this one) posts in the last 114 days and if I quit posting so much (or, doing random math calculations and playing Words with Friends), I could exercise more and be the size of Twiggy in 30 days.

-If you post a response to this and try to do the calculations after that, your rate of posting will increase slightly. (Note: I completed the calculations at 9:37 a.m. today. All calculations were made based on the end of today being the last date of the 200th post...otherwise, many rates would be slightly higher, but I was too lazy to switch back and forth between yesterday and today.)

1.08 posts per day
1.32 posts per day - ME/NJ (200 posts since December 28, 2011)
1.34 posts per day
1.42 posts per day
1.75 posts per day - BrendaTX (200 posts since February 5, 2012)
2.15 posts per day
2.25 posts per day
2.26 posts per day
3.39 posts per day
3.51 posts per day

Signed:
BrendaTx who is so glad to have too much time on her hands for the time period that it took her to do these calculations.

pretty funny, Brenda, but I think you might want to re-visit

your calculations to factor in:
1. quality vs quantity 2. blog type post vs discussion 3 answers with helpful information vs ummm...not Smile
I look forward to further analysis

I agree with Brenda that there's been enough discussion on this topic, but I think you make three excellent points - and I'm going to *try* to think about those myself before posting... Wink

Very busy month for me, considering i'm in a rural area.

I had to turn down 3 just to get out of town for a few days.

I did one Friday morning before I left to pickup my sister down south and take her back to the airport in S.F. to go back to Australia.

IMO it's just that some people get irritated when the

forum goes from discussions to personal blogs.
