Their location? Website? Phone Number? I'd like to include them in my "Do Not Answer" list.

I have done 2 signings for them, Which were both last minute signings. They couldn't find anyone cheap enough I guess. They paid timely and met my fee, $xxx. Have called several times but not used me but twice.

Unless they have very few stars (3 or less) for non-payment, I wouldn't be so quick to add them to my "Do Not Answer" list...Why? Often I have found that what one company WILL pay or will NOT pay in a certain market, at a given time, may not hold true for other markets it also comes down to different schedulers, willing to split more or less with the notary. I personally would not turn down a potential client based on what they offer someone else, even if it is someone in my area. You never know, what they will agree to given all the variables. I can think of more than one company that will not meet my fee, but meets the very same fee in a different part of the state, or visa versa. Global Notary in Tustin, paid me a more than double what Pat was offered (back in 2009).

Global notary listed in SC is a 2.5 star company...mostly bad reviews. Hopefully, that's the same company as the OP was referring to. The few good comments are one of two types: shill posts or rural notaries who of course will get their fee met and paid timely - they'll be needed again. Companies are fairly consistent in the behavior. They offer most everyone lowball fees and are hard to collect from, or, they're 1st class to everyone, meet or fairly negotiate fees, and pay timely.
I personally choose to only work with 4 and 5 star companies and regardless of the market - expenses have not gone down. My fee is firm but I'm willing to negotiate. I've noticed that 1st class companies don't "offer" a fee - they ask me what my fee is and accept readily. It leads me to believe that they respect my work and expertise and aren't desperate to fill an order. JMHO

I have to agree, I didn't remember at first who they were until I just now reviewed my notes:
Last Updated Note 1/19/2009 9:19:00 PM did e-doc refi today- 169 pgs, 16 pg fxbk, call when I get to appt, call after.. was willing to pay me $125, but I got that fee approved before I knew about the huge package and the faxback. It was an Amerprise loan with 18 docs 32 signatures!!! NEVER AGAIN, will I do a standard signing for them. They will not pay until after feb 10... (got paid 2/25/09) 9/24/2009 1:46:00 PM called me today for 7pm, fortunately, I already had an appt.
LOL... I would not work for Global again, however, my comments above were meant for companies in general that may pay various fees, depending on mood, needs, whatever.

They paid me my fee the first few times and the last 3 calls I've gotten from them they have offered $60-$70 for 120+ page refi's and fax backs...ridiculous!

Although I haven't worked for them in
many years and they are a low ball company. THEY DO PAY and on their schedule once a month (if my memory serves me correctly). They are however, a good training ground for complete novices because of the fax back requirements and their QC. I still occasionally get calls from them, but we haven't been able to come to an agreement regarding price.
Tell me what is worse, a newbie accepting an assignment from them and learning the correct way to do a signing (owner Bill used to be a signing agent) or a newbie taking a good paying job from a TC and mucking it up? To me that is a far worse reflection on our industry. Of course, some of the blame should go to the TC for not vetting their signers any better. It's amazing how just a few of the right questions can tell you a lot about someone's experience. Also remember, you may not always get what you pay for, but you rarely get more than you pay for.
