That is opposite of my interactions with HVR, I have done work for them a couple times in last few months have had no problems. Hector was professional, and paid right at 30 days.

Sorry to hear you had this experience. I've worked with Hector a number of times, he's low maintenance, no hand holding, and he pays promptly.

I don't have a problem with them. They send me signings they only asks for an email of completion and at less than 30 days I have a check in my mail box. So far so good.

Well, I hate to be the first to uncover Hector Vides unprofessinalism. I have dealt with JJ Spivey and he seemed to be professional and listened. Hector thinks he's still at Camp Penelton or in prison... he's totally unprofessinal... Too bad I can't put audio on here or I would post my conversation with him this morning... he surely isn't pleasant... I just want to be paid... which he refuses....

Not sure if you have reviewed this company, but there are several people who have posted "beware notices about non payment"...

Thank God you were lucky to be paid by these people..

Hector may be a little rough around the edges, but he has integrity. If you took the job, performed it well, and the deal closed with no issues, you should get paid. JJ is very easy to work with. I hope you can recover from whatever transpired.

I can tell you, I would not want to run a Signing Service, too many glitches can happen, the the SS is the monkey in the middle. These guys get penalized for every little thing that goes wrong in a deal.

Considering that most SS take the lion's share of the fee, who else should get penalized whenever things go wrong?

"These guys get penalized for every little thing that goes wrong in a deal." - Not my problem.

That's what every SS company signs up for as the middle men between the TC and the NSA. And they are paid very well; just ask the NSA's that used to be paid Net 15 and better fees from the TC directly.

I'm a professional and act accordingly, but you won't catch me feeling bad for the SS companies.

I've worked with them consistantly, not alot of work but a few jobs per month. I can count on getting paid on the 15th of the following month.

Works for me!

I've done a lot of work for them and have always been paid. They are no-nonsense guys, not warm and fuzzy types, who don't waste their time with happy talk, but they also have a confirmation that is just 1/2 a page... ("Just the facts, ma'am.")

I suspect there's more to this story than meets the eye. Some of the characterizations by the original poster I found to be uncalled for. They may reflect an attitude that might be getting in the way of a good relationship. That would be a shame...

JANETK- I believe this is what these forum is for. It is to provide other notaries with a reference from companies we service. I would not bother to post things that were untrue or uncalled for. I am simply relaying to those who care the facts about my experience with these people. If you feel that my facts were uncalled for, I apologize, but they did happen and I want people to know it. When I spoke to Hector on the telephone, I felt violated by the way he spoke to me... he was nasty and unprofessional to me for simply following up on payment that was due to me. I work for a reason, this is not my hobby!

"I consider it a hobby.."

So many of us do not consider it thusly. It is a business, deserving of our attention and care; something we have built.

Oh, my.

Sandy, it wasn't your facts that I thought were uncalled for. I have no way of knowing whether what you said is true or not What I thought was uncalled for were your characterizations of Hector as sounding like a "gang member" and when you said he thinks he's "still at Camp Pendleton or in prison". Those statements are not based on any facts, and rather sound like stereotyping, which I dislike. I thought them to be judgmental and I'm not sure what point you were trying to make other than implying a lack of character - although I don't suggest you try mixing those references with any of the marines at Camp Pendleton!

I agree with you on the rest of your post. This IS a forum for exchanging that type of information. But I prefer it not be a forum for making negative comments that imply some kind of negative ethnic slur, regardless of to whom it's directed.

Having said that, Hector *can* be rather gruff... Wink I get the impression he runs a pretty fast paced office. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you try communicating with him via email. You might improve your chances if you try to imitate his style - straight to point, just the facts.

I hope you're able to resolve your issues.

I've done one thing for them. They actually offered me more than I requested for the small job they had for me. Easy, simple no fuss. I was cool with that! Smile It took some effort to get paid, though. I had to send several emails and was told that a check would be mailed, but it wasn't...to be told their accountant was out of town or something. It eventually showed up, so we're good. I would work for them again if they called.

I have no serious complaints, but it does seem that their accounts payable system could use some spiffing up.

No need to shout (typing in all CAPS). My experience over several years, is that HVR is quick to pay, no hand-holding, and easy to deal with. With that said, there is probably more to your complaint than meets the eye. It would be interesting to hear both sides of this one.
Unless you are dealing with a real scumbag, no pay problems are often a result of several things. HVR is not in the habit of not paying.

I've worked with Hector for almost 8 years. Never a problem getting paid in a timely fashion. Usually right on the button. He does want his Notaries to be detailed and get the job done correctly.

You're out of line.

I wouldn't say this about a dog, unless I knew it to be an ABSOLUTE fact.

HVR is one of the few SS I will work for, I have done MANY closings for them and never had an issue on getting paid. If you make a mistake they just want it fixed ASAP!

Seem to be an either/or company

Very mixed comments on SC. From 1 to 5 stars; with an average of 3.
Something is wrong somewhere is all I can determine.

He is a hothead. Took them off my list a long time ago. That's the beauty of being an independent contractor. Smile
