Just had a h*** of a time trying to order supplies from UPS
Called and one of the options is to have them fax a form to you. Did that. Filled it out and faxed it back. They fax me back saying my acct# has been deactivated. So I call and talk to an agent. Can't order because of no longer have an acct because of lack of activity. I explain what I do and don't have to pay for shipping is why it has no activity. I just need supplies please. Can't do that she said. Huh? She tells me to go to drop boxes. I tell her they only have letter size, I need legal. She tells me to go to UPS store. I tell her on a good day they will give me 3 maybe 4 legal size. She tells me to go to UPS Center (40 miles away). I tell her I will do that when I am in that area. I start to get very frustrated and raising my voice a little at a time. I want to speak to a supervisor please. She puts me on hold for 10 min. Supervisor comes on and we go through the exact same scenario as before. Now, I get very impatient and really raised my voice this time. She then says she can give me a new acct #, I say ok. She does that and then won't/can't give it to me. Someone else has to do that. So, I wait on hold another 5 min for someone to verify my address etc. What an ordeal. I also have a problem dropping UPS. We have 2 stores in our small town that UPS picks up everyday around 4pm. One of those places wants to charge me $1 to drop it since they did not generate the label. The other place says the same thing but does not charge me. I buy there all the time but UPS charges them $1 for me to do that. I make it up by buying something. Of course I try and drop the pkg at the UPS store when I can but sometimes its too far away. The majority of my drops are Fed Ex and I don't ever have a problem. I'm about ready to ask the 2 or 3 companies that use UPS what kind of problems I have. I'm sure there are others that say the same thing about Fed Ex. How does everyone else get supplies for UPS?

This is not just a problem with UPS. I have it with FedEx, also. The UPS Store that has a $1 charge for dropp off is not part of the UPS ASO network and they can charge for accepting your drop offs. Now understand that both UPS, FedEx and USPS limit the supplies you can order at one time. This is something that should be addressed by the Title/Escrow or SS the hire us.

Do you have large office buildings near you?
They sometimes have mail centers and are stocked with all kinds of stuff.
I get so few UPS and when I do I ask for FedEx acct. number. If not available, I insist on preprinted label and hope I have a place to restock.
Even FedEx is giving me problems about hand written labels and depending upon who I am talking to it can be hard to get legal.

UPS & FedEx
I have both a UPS & FedEx accounts, that I use all the time and never have a problem getting supplies. I keep the accounts active by scheduling a pick up from them from time to time and this is what keeps the account active with no problems. I've been working with them for over 25 years and never had a problem that was not quickly resolved.

Re: UPS & FedEx
Glad to hear that you have been this fortunate. I closed both accounts years ago when Residential Title in Tampa reversed the charges on about 8 closings I had done for them. It was bad enough that I paid for their shipment, but the $20.00 reversal fee was really over the top. They took $363.00 out of my account and I never got the money back, nor did I get the money back from Residential Title, and they were paid for the charges on the HUD. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

I've never had a problem either, until recently. So I called
customer service and they ordered the supplies for me. The agent apologized profusely for the inconvenience.

Be careful of the UPS Store, I was regularly dropping off packages there. I believe it was the owner says "escrow company" you know we offer mobile notary service. I told him that is who I was, he says well thank you for showing me who your client is, I'm going to give them a call. I thought he was just blowing smoke, but low and behold he called, I know this because he used my name as a referral and they called me. Arrrgggghhhhh.

A S, I understand why the 2 places charge $1 but why in the
world is it so hard to get supplies? As far as the "limit" of supplies I can order, I use so little from UPS that I'm sure I haven't gone over that limit. It's probably been a year since I ordered from them, hence why my acct was deactivated. I don't have that problem with Fed Ex at all. I order pretty much at 1 time to last me several months. It was just so frustrating today. She even told me to have whoever hires me get me the envelope to ship it back. She did not understand how that was not possible.

Next to impossible to get UPS supplies, so I just
turn the Fed Ex envelopes inside out, use the Fed Ex plastic sleeve and slide the UPS label in then drop in the UPS box. Problem solved. Most of the UPS drivers won't stock the drop boxes anymore either. At least the companies I work for that use UPS send the pre-printed labels with the docs.

Re: Next to impossible to get UPS supplies, so I just
I will not say sorry for UPS, as I am not heir emloyee but PLEASE understend I have the same problem at the FedEx center on 4 mile road in north Fort Texas. When I call to get supplies from FedEx I am told I need to open an accout but can't because I disputed a shipment that should have was shipped to a local lender using thier account which was bill to me and has gone unpaid for 10+ years. Plus they do not seem to understand what a LEGAL size envelope is (stupid a// FedEx customer service).

I sure don't find them stocked. I go to FedEx/Kinkos.
One store (Waterford) is super; the other (University) is sometimes snotty. Bennett Rd. gives me all I want/need.

Bennett Road office told me to get an account and wouldn't
give me any plastic sleeves. Went out to the car and taped the FED EX label to the package and then went back in and gave it to them.

Linda, next time just tell them this...
can I give you the tracking numbers of my last 15 shippings of this week? They were not paid by me but I was the one who shipped those packages.

You know that FEDEX pays the postal companies, like Power postal, mailboxes, etc , a $1.00 for every package that you drop there. I had one small Postal service/mail service company try to charge me and I took the package back and dropped it elsewhere.

A friend of mine owns a UPS store. I'm pretty sure it's against the franchise rules for them to charge to drop a package if they didn't generate the label. I'll ask for more info when I'm in next.

There used to be a pack-n-ship near me that
started doing the same thing - they started charging for us to drop UPS packages there because UPS was charging them - I took my business elsewhere - and they are no longer in business...{go figure}

I have the same problem!! I feel like I have to beg, borrow, or steal supplies for UPS. When I go to UPS store or even Staples - they have very FEW supplies. When I go to UPS, they tell me to call the 800 number. You would think I'm asking them to feed me for a week!!! It is ridiculous! The drop-boxes are empty. And to top it all off - last drop-off is around 6pm.
On the other hand, FEDEX will ship my supplies to my door in 3 days or less. And I can drop a package up until 7:30pm.
