Last day to sign ...
Does the Saturday before the holiday count in calculating the "last day to sign" this month? Wondering what day to plan for the complete craziness. lol

For May, Friday the 25th would be the last day to sign loans that have a RTC and must be funded by the last day of May. Monday is a Federal holiday and doesn't count as part of the three days required.
In Signing Central, on this site, there is a Rescission Calendar for 2012 that you can download or print.

The calendar here on NR is so confusing to me. This is the first time I've actually looked at it though. Its backwards to me. Leave the calendar days alone and put the recission period day in light.

This is my favorite layout of recission calendar
I really like this format. I fold it in half, laminate it and make a bookmark out of it--it slides right into my journal. I only laminate it so it's easier to find--I have a home laminator.

Thanks Jessica, I like that calendar. I think I'll print one out for myself. Sue

I have no idea how my last reply has A+ Signings by our name - strange! But we are not A+ Signings ... just wanted to clarify. LOL

Yes, it counts
It seems we go through this before every holiday.
The rule is that all days except Sundays and Federal holidays count. Unless the Federal holiday falls on a Saturday, that Saturday counts. If the Federal Holiday occurs on a Saturday or Sunday and is "observed" the following Monday, the Monday still counts - the rule is when the holiday occurs, not when it's observed.
The fact that it's a holiday weekend is immaterial and seems to confuse people every year - you need to get that thought out of your head. Just remember "Sundays and Federal Holidays", count three days around those, and you're good to go; you will never have to ask this question or look at a rescission calender again...
As an aside - last day to sign is really not your concern. The law is clear about when that would be, but the lender can opt to extend it for whatever reason.

Re: Yes, it counts
Thanks Mike. Figuring out the last day to sign with the holidays is always a joy. LOL. I only ask because I like to plan on which day will be the craziest for loans, not really for knowing the date as they are usually already printed on the RTC forms. I like to plan ahead and make sure not to schedule personal things (and kids things) on the last day to sign ... as I am usually running around the state like a mad woman all day and night. Thanks for all the info though! Appreciated!
