NREIS is farming out jobs to Signing Services
Guess they can't find any notaries who will work for free. Many of the signing services will pay you sooner than waiting for NREIS. However, others won't. Some mau not pay at all if they don't get paid. So, be careful out there!

2.5 - 3 stars in SC - on all 3 listings they somehow have
IMO they don't "rock"

I am hired by the Signing Company not the title companies. If they are not getting paid by title than that is something they need to pursue. I did one recently with a signing agent that has a 4+ rating. NREIS was the title company...time will tell.

NREIS
I have unpaid invoices from them for October and January

You need to go after them Pat!
If you just sit there why should they pay you? I am getting ready to send a collection letter from my attorney. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Moaning about them here will not get you paid!

If the October invoice wasn't paid before you accepted the January call, why take the January signing?

That was my though, too, LKT
Payment issues - or more accurately, lack of payment - with NREIS has been going on for a couple of years now. Still, there are plenty of notaries who seem to think it can't happen to them. It's almost laughable if it weren't so sad. Sad that they still not getting paid, but even sadder that they're keeping NREIS in business so they can continue to stiff notaries. Actually, there is someone laughing: NREIS. Laughing at notaries. Like the post below referring to the lengendary Tammy at NotaryInk. She's laughing too, right now, after getting a good review from some notary who thought she'd beat the system by getting Paypal. (Gee, where have we heard that story, before?)
Anyway, what's so hard about just saying NO? I know it's against our nature because we all like to take jobs, we all like to think we're wanted and valued as NSAs, and we generally trust the other guy that they will pay. But when month after month after month there are posts one right after another that NREIS doesn't pay, why can't you just junk the deadwood, value yourself and your business enough not to take jobs from every peice of nonpaying riff-raff that calls, and just give it up?
I, too, worked for NREIS for a few years. Had lots and lots of jobs. They were one of my main squeezes. Then, when the $$ didn't show up and didn't show up, I started calling and got the runaround and some rude behavior from accounts payable. I finally contacted one of the biggies there who I had somewhat of a relationship with because she had called me a few times when there was some kind of emergency. She helped get my money (whew!) but that was it for me. I saw the writing on the wall. And I've never looked back. So, for those of you who think you can't live without NREIS stiffing you, I promise, there is life after NREIS. And if you get a NREIS job through a SS, turn it back; because it's obvious they're not paying their vendors, either.
Anyway, I'm betting that before the end of the month, there will be another "wah, wah, NREIS isn't paying me. Anybody else having problems?" post. Any takers?

Re: That was my though, too, LKT
It is difficult for me to comprehend why people keep working for NREIS, too. It has been several years since I worked with them and it was not that I had not received payment. I payed attention to all the negative post. What makes me shake my head in disbelief is that the person who mentioned unpaid invoices has been posting and reading (well not sure about reading :-)) these post for years. Makes no sense whatsoever. Sorry to come on so strong, however, it is very irritating to say the least! Please Stop!

I emailed Ken Awes for payment. He sent me a copy of the email he forwarded to accounting. It said go ahead and release her pay. It sounded like they were doing me a favor. I have not received any calls since except an email from Mortgagedocs for NREIS closing.

Great Kimberly:
However, can you clarify what on time means? If you have to wait 90-120 days....do you consider that timely? Also, if you could share who you speak with, that would be great for those of us who feel that 90 or 120 days or more is a bit slow. Also, I would like to know how some people claim to get paid right away and others...after already doing the job have to then work just to get paid for the job they already have completed. Perhaps you can shed some light on that for us since you get paid in a timely manner. This forum is a great resource to help out each other when we are having difficulty getting paid from companies. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

Those Signing Services accepting NREIS assignments are experiencing the same payment problems as NSA's. A well known, excellent SS company in Michigan, who seemed to have lots of work from NREIS, sent a letter with my payment a couple of months ago stating that "due to changes in payment terms that we have had to accept from our clients, we will be implementing changes to when you will receive payment from....(the company name)".

Yes, the assigned to a SS with a 4+ rating. I didn't know that it was NREIS until after the assignment was confirmed and I downloaded the documents.
Do you ask who the TC is before you accept an assignment? I don't, the SS stands on it's own merit. IMO

I don’t care who the Title Company or Lender is, or what terms the SS has with THEIR client. If they hire me, they better be able to pay me ….simple.
