National Paralegal Network

Well, I was "accepted" by them but when I saw that they were a "debt resolution" company - I flat out refused to be associated with them. Has any one worked for them? They say on the bottom of their email that there have been discussions about them on NotRot.

Monica - same here - I was curious about them but after going through the intro and realizing that they wanted to offer me a position as a representative for "debt resolution" - I declined as well.

Re: Hasn't this dead horse been beaten enough?

Sorry if my post has offended you. I just haven't heard of this outfit (even though I am a retired paralegal) and thought it was quite interesting to see that "paralegals" were going after this kind of business.

Monica - you feel free to write on any subject you choose

about notary work on this board. There are many NR forum nazi's on here that want to tell you how often you can bring up a subject, what you can say, how to step in time to their drummer and think like them. Just be you and ask away. If they don't like your post they can move on and read another one. Maybe there are others on this board who need it brought up fresh. Ones that don't get on the board every spare minute they have and they have missed the previous threads. Write away girl!

On offence intented. None taken.

Monica, by all means, post whatever you like. I really don't care, and I don't mean that with any "snarkiness." The National Paralegal Network postings showed up on this forum on 4/10/12. By 5/3/12, there had been 4 postings with 39 responses. You and others have brought it up since then, which is no big deal, and certainly no problem or concern. I think you get the point that there are many comments about it. As so often happens with repeated topics, there are fewer members who bother to repeat their replies, so the most recent poster tends to learn little. I suggest using the orange search tab to search "National Paralegal Network." By doing that, you'll learn much more than you will by reading what few, mostly non-informative replies are posted in response to your original posting. That was my point, with no disparaging comment intended to impune your search for knowledge. Now, I wonder why it seems that others lambasted me, but even so, they really did not provide a meaningful response to your posting. Perhaps they no longer care to beat that dead horse. Seriously, I wish you wellness and success. May well all stay curious and helpful, and learn a lot to help increase our coffers.

Belinda, I take offense at your choice of words.

My husband and I both lost family at the hands of the Nazis. Don't ever use that word lightly. You need to have more sensitivity.

Thank you for the update, Monica.

You saved me, and I'm sure others, some wasted time. Much appreciated!

I'm thinking maybe we should get them listed in SC

Karla/OR was the first to present this company...maybe if she or anyone who has enough information about this company would list it in SC so we can link these threads...IMO the company is generating enough interest and conversation here that I think the reference source would be immensely helpful.

Just a thought.

Hi Monica~ PLEASE do a search with the orange button before making a decision. I have posted many favorable comments about this company. They are a commendable debt resolution company based on my work with them - the pay is decent based on what you have to do in comparison to a mortgage signing. You will find some negative comments on here, but they are from people that have never worked for this company before. Trust me it is a legit and professional company to work for.

They are expanding their business from just debt resolution services to notary and NSA's. They are not going to hire hundred of people for each geographical area because they want to give as much work to as few people as possible. If you are still interested, I would move ASAP on it.

Karla

Yes, very much so! I am pleased to have job offered!
Watching JPMC's news, it's chilling! Are they one of the largest lender in the nation? No wonder it has been slow!

Well, all I can say is I am a retired paralegal with 30 years in the business and I certainly would NOT want to be involved with a company that does debt resolutions. What are you going to do when then ask you to handle a debt resolution and be a "representative" of their company, etc? Just my opinion - take it or leave it.

Monica~ I'm not sure I understood your point about ". . . ask you to handle a debt resolution an dbe a "representative" of their company, etc.?" NPN makes it clear that you are a contracted worker, nothing more, nothing less. I do respect our opinion, but I feel you are grasping at straws when you haven't been involved with the company like I have. I am verbalizing what I know to be true. If it's not for you to be involved with this company be it for debt resolution, notary work, or NSA work, then so be it. I have to respect that too.

Hi Karla! Thanks for the referral, but the only concern that I have with the network is that we are IC, and it seems as though they want us to not turn down an assignment. I do have a full time job.

Lacy~ You're welcome. Sorry, not sure what "IC" is. I can understand your concern when carrying a full-time job. They have asked their Paralegals to post 20 hours of availability each week on their calendar. It has not even come close to being an issue with me and I work part-time. When I did have a signing come up during my part-time job hours, I just asked that the appointment be re-scheduled for that evening or the weekend. The appointment only takes 30 minutes if you are not a talker!!! :O) I do like to converse with who I am signing with so I'm lucky to get out of there in an hour!!! ha ha Not sure if this helps or not.
