Premier Signing Services, LLC out of Ohio

OK. gang, never give up in getting paid. It may have taken 7 months of calling every 3-4 weeks the last 5 months. Talking and leaving several messges with Miles (who answers the phones), calling the actual title co, Progressive Title and them calling 3 or 4 times, but I actually ran into the borrow who lives a few miles from me and happen to mention I never got paid for his closing and he took it in his hands and called Matt Snipes up the owner and I got paid within the week. Matt claimed he had issued me a ck on 12/30/11 and came up with a ck # somewhere. So I said if you issued me a ck then, why on 1/9/12 when the title co. called you, you told them I hadn't got paid because you hadn't received a w-9 from me. In fact I got an email from you stating you need a signed agreement, plus a W-9 (which I still had in my computer that I had scanned them on 9/28/11) before I could get paid. He said, the nerve of me to go to the borrower. That I would ruin his good reputation, after all he had been in business for 18 yrs, (I believe that's what he said). I said, Matt all I want is my money. & if in fact you had paid me why when Miles left you message after message to call me, why did you not call in and tell me you had paid in the end of December? He's full of hot air! But just wanted you to know, hey give your actual borrower a call and you may get results fast like I did. Now if I hadn't known my customer as a neighbor of mine, I may have never called him, but I know I had seen comments out there that he owed someone over $600!! No way. I suggest calling the customer! Good Luck! Be persistant! It pays off! Even though it was only a $100, it got to be the principle of the thing! I gave them a deal to start with and then they don't even pay that! Never again, unless they put money in my paypal account before I leave the hosue for their closing!

Be persistent...yes; work your way up the chain of command over the hiring party's head to get payment, yes.

Contact the borrower? No. As has been said many times, the borrowers have paid the fee and they're out of it - it's out of their hands and out of their control - they can't control what title does with disbursements.

I don't care if the borrowers are my next door neighbors or my family - the subject of my being paid or not should never even be addressed with them.

JMHO

I applaud your efforts of saying persistent in getting paid, you did well. I have to humbly agree with Linda that I would never contact a borrower regarding failure to get paid. I would be concerned that I would come across as unprofessional as the borrower really doesn't have anything to do with it.

Again, not bashing or dissing your efforts because in the end, you got paid and maybe Premier needs to revisit their payment practices and see how notaries are not just sitting on the side and allowing them to avoid paying us for services.

Yes, you collected your money, but IMO you crossed the line

by using the borrower as your collection agent. :-(

If you go to the Signing Central tab at top of this page and then click on Service companies and look at how they are rated here, it will give a general idea of their performance etc. It is a formidible task to do a comprehensive evaluation of each company but this guide does have merit.

Contacting the borrower? I read here several years ago

Yrs ago, I read on NotRot where an unpaid NSA was able to successfully place a lien on BO's property! I never could find that thread & everything I've read since, doesn't support it - I guess he found a loophole in his state. Nevertheless, unprofessional or not, I'd rather get a phone call than a LIEN (esp for $100)!

I stopped working with Premier yrs ago after they told me it was my responsibilty to make a copy of ID if BO forgot/ was unable! After yrs of late docs (10 am appt becomes 9 pm after promising ALL DAY that docs shud be ready in 15 min....30 min...within the hr...etc), that was the final straw!

I'd given them a 2nd chance after my 1st signing w/ them. I believe the ex-Mrs wasnt available/ aware of closing. Relayed this to Premier & of course they told me to go anyway. Like the stupid newbie I was, I printed docs, drove thru rush hr (1hr & 45 min ONE WAY), did signing (1hr), called Premier & Title (adding another 30 min to my time), came home (45 min against traffic), & then they say not to drop docs! They didn't want to waste the FedEx fee after wasting my gas, toner & paper AND 4 hrs of MY time (plus 1 hr print & check for a HUGE pkg)!
After verbally promising to pay me my full fee (to get me to go there despite knowing ex-Mrs wasn't there), they paid me a whopping $45 - not even half!

I still gave them another chance & never had any other probs getting pd. The late docs 'tho, were ridiculous! I was held hostage by their hrly assertion that doc sare comming "within the hr" (earlier example). When they FINALLY called @ 9 pm (yes I was a stupid newbie), the BO said "H3LL NO" cause it was too doggone late! They then had to re-do docs all over! LOLed at that one!
