Really rough EOM.
Tired all the time. Tending to driift off during long closings. Quite strange, since closings this EOM no more numerous than usual.
Reached for the coffee last night to make myself a cup. Found out I'd been drinking decaf for more than two weeks. NOW I learn that, with a 3-day weekend coming up with all that entails napwise.

I suggest you go get several bottles of some good 100% agave Tequila, Cointreau, some limes and ice, some longnecks, and some good bourbon, then call all your many ex-wives, girlfriends, paramours, and those you wish would have become so, and have a big Texas style weekend party. At which you can tell them that you have reformed, become a good caring humble person, and that you may even attend a church service someday! That alone should keep you awake, without the need for caffeine the rest of your life. JMO

I hope that gave you a nice belly laugh Hugh.

That sounds like it might work.
But, uh, would YOU please be the one to call my ex-wives and tell them I want to party with them?

Re: That sounds like it might work.
I too would call, but I don't think I have that many minutes on my phone, but I could mass e-mail? I'd have to assure them that you've reformed? That you are going to stay out of 'dog' bars and refrain from hanging out with old guys with two fingers of Copenhagen stuffed under their lip while swilling down cheap warm draft beer. But not to worry, I can lie convincingly some times, even though I don’t have “JD” after my name.

I am not laughing about the decaf
A month ago I was having unstoppable headaches...progressively worse daily. Upset stomach. Thought I had a medical condition. Went for an extra B12. Finally, the answer ten days into the h3ll.
Yep...reached for the coffee to make a cup and yes, it was decaf. I feel ya.

Never would on purpose. I accidentally bought it.
Very subtle differences in package of decaf v. the real thing.

Did the same thing..I accidentally bought a large can
of that half decaf/half regular - fortunately I caught it ahead of time and was able to gradually mix small amounts of it with regular so as not to waste it - but still we had headaches for about a week til we got used to it.
I look real close now - those headaches are horrid!!

Even though I would grab a real cup at work, by the time
I got there I was feeling nauseated and had headache. Did not want any coffee. Why isn't coffee one of the drugs of focus on "Intervention"?

Re: I am not laughing about the decaf
You can buy Swiss Water Process decaf, in which no chemicals were used, but the more common method (methyl chloride) leaves less than trace chemicals in the coffee and is not considered a health risk by the FDA.
I roast my own coffee, and only drink decaf; I'll usually buy green SWP beans but sometimes they're impossible to get, depending on country of origin.

Geez, Mike. Where do you keep your spinning wheel -- right next to the butter churn? You pick the breakfast grits right off the tree in your back yard? Turn moldy bread into penicillin to use when chewing willow bark doesn't cure your aches and pains?

Re: I am not laughing about the decaf
Mock me if you will, but I guarantee you that you've never had coffee as good as a fresh home roast. Plus, you get to try coffee from all over the world instead of just what's available at the local supermarket or (shudder) Charbucks... I even found a place that sells Kopi Luwak beans, but at $200+/lb (and an aversion to how it's made), I doubt I will be trying that one anytime soon.
I used to homebrew beer also, but I gave that hobby up because I don't have room for the equipment. The coffee roaster is small and fits on the kitchen counter.
"You pick the breakfast grits right off the tree in your back yard?"
To quote Joe Pesci in "My Cousin Vinnie" - what's a grit?

Are those the coffee beans that are run through the bird first? I bet Peeby the Parakeet and I could work out something with you where we could give you the beans for half that. Let me get Lucy the Chihuahua involved in production, and we could even halve that.

Not exactly - it's a civit, which looks like a weasel. It sounds weird, but it's true...
