Does most of your work come from big firms?
A couple of years ago when most of my work came from the big firms, I had an unexplained slowdown. Turns out, my background check had expired so I had been automatically deactivated.
I had ordered a new background check, but had not distributed it, and nobody had asked for it, but I really noticed a difference in my work volume.
Now I automatically send out copies of the new commission, background check, insurance, etc to all clients whenever something changes.
I also check in periodically with clients I haven't heard from in a while. "Just wanted to say hello and that I've missed working with you--is everything in my file current? Do you need any updated information?"
I also send a W-9 to ALL clients with my January billing statements each year as well as with my December Statements.

Maybe
Maybe it's the missing third person singular present tense of "have" and "be". (has & is)

April was the worst month for me in 2 years. I had been
beating my quotas from 2011 but this past month was just awful. Guess everything goes in cycles. Back in December-January I had one client calling me off the hook, but the lender they do business with has dropped off the radar, and I haven't heard from them since. Hopefully, business will pick up again.

Did you call your client?
If someone gives me tons of work and all the sudden it stops and rates are still low there is a reason why. That is how I found out someone ran me over with the bus, maybe client lost a account? Right now if you have a steady stream of work and stops look into it right away.

Re: Did you call your client?
Agree, Mike. There was a point that one of my clients who called me "off the hook" started using a different notary when I was unable to accommodate ONE of their signings. Turns out a particular EO got irritated at that, and told other EOs I was "too busy". The gal had recently separated from the Co., and they were glad I called them. They had me back in the saddle next day.
