So why do sites ask...
I have noticed this site and ,any others always ask a few of the same questions....like "Do you perform weddings?" or "Do you offer fingerprint services?" and "Do you do inspections?"
So my question is this, these are not something done in the notary capacity as far as I can tell, so why do so many sires ask these same questions?

Because some states do authorize notaries to provide
those services - some done.
Florida notaries, and a few other states, can perform marriages - or in most state if a notary is an ordained minister they can perform marriages.
Most notaries don't keep all there eggs in one basket - they have many "side" services that they offer. Some are licensed process servers, some are authorized fingerprint "takers" (for lack of a better word without my daily dose of coffee), many many many do the "field inspections" - it may not be a true "notary" function but it's a side service to the business.
IOW sites ask those questions in order to list it for informational purposes for the people conducting the search looking for specific services.

Re: Because some states do authorize notaries to provide
Thank you. I have not been able to find in the TEXAS law where any services like that are provided by notaries. Is there somewhere else I should check? I would be interested in what other duties TX allows for their notaries.
I can perform marriages, but not in my notarial capacity, I have been ordained for years. I did it many years ago to perform a hand-fasting for friends. I really hadn't thought of offering those services to the public.
