Re: O boy, here comes the deluge -
that's what I was going to say...
But I also wanted to add, that I would assume that it is in affect until midnight...just like an RTC.
Of course, that is what makes sense to me, but I'm not attorney.

I'm just giving an educated guess, but I would think it would be good thru the date on it, so if the date on it is not today but tomorrow, you should be okay.

You can "do a notary" anytime you wish. If your commission expires tomorrow, I would that that it expires at midnight, therefore, you can notarize tomorrow as well. After that, you need a new stamp.
I hope you ordered it from NotRot as they are so fast with delivery.
**Sorry, Caroline, I couldn't resist. Gotta have some fun!

No it wasn't a stupid question!!! It was the words " doing a notary" that was subject to ridicule from posters here.

You are a Notary, you perform notarizations.
But who am I to say? The name of my company is "NotaryByCheryl". It's wrong in every way. And I knew it when I did it.
I have people call me all the time telling me they need a notary done. Either that or they need a Notary Public.
Just as an FYI. We are Notary REpublics, not Notary Publics.

In Texas, your Notary Commission expires at minight of the day of you commission expires. Example, your expiration date is 05/22/2012 the you can use it till midnight 22nd but not after 12:01 A M of the 23rd.

No one mentioned this but....
I would advise that you NOT notarize any international documents - especially adoption paperwork going overseas. It is a HIGH probability that the documents will be rejected by the overseas entities because those agencies don't want a notary seal that's expiring within 2 years.
Regardless of it being legal here - it most likely will be rejected overseas and the customers will be angry with you that you didn't tell them this and that they have to get their paperwork notarized again (more expense to them).
