Brothers HL-5470DW

I just bought a new Brothers HL-5470DW to fill in while waiting for parts for my other printer. My dual trays will not work to print alternating letter and legal sized documents. Can anyone help me set up my Brothers to do dual tray printing?

Their customer service people are really on the ball. I would go there first. They will walk you through complete set up. That is what I did....and, no, I don't remember. It has been discussed here previously - you could search with the Orange button. Depends upon how much time you have to wait I guess.

If directions aren't in your manual, go to the online manual

that has more detailed info. I don't have that model but my online manual had great instructions-just be sure to follow ever step. good luck!

Brother HL-5470DW great printer for the cost and time saver

I just bought that printer last week and it's amazingly fast - I cut my prep time by 80%. It shoots out 40 PPM. The down side it's hard to find toner right now.

I hate my Brother 5470DW. Can't wait to get another HP

It's a very cheaply made machine. The pages curl. When trying to stack them together, they never fit together right. Hate it. There is NOTHING like an HP.

Hugh, don't tell Susan I said this...but

HP's rule.
I have a 12 year old HP 6110 (Inkjet - MF) that still clunks along. The only thing wrong with it is the document feeder for faxing.
I also have a 3 year old Laser - no problems.

Make sure your second tray is installed and both of your trays are defined in the properties section of your printer setup in Windows. Also check driver is right, you can update from brother website if not.
