EOM . . .

I had a 6:30 p.m. scheduled already - added a 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to it from calls received today. Things went downhill with the 4:40 appointment and it ricocheted all the way to the 8 p.m. signing.

The 4:30 BO didn't bother to return my four voice mails until 4:25 p.m.!! (She told me later that the lender had confirmed the appointment for today at 4:30 and gave me the impression that she had no need to call me back because of that!) On the way to her home, I hit heavy 5 o'clock traffic, almost got in an accident, got lost, my Garmin fell off my front window while driving, I could not find her home, had to stop at two different neighbors and ask - they had no clue. I finally found it by parking the car and looking at mailboxes! The very first doc we looked at was a problem - we got the lender on the phone and the two disagreed for nearly15 minutes before the lender gave up and decided to re-schedule. By now it was 6:40 and I was late for my next appointment. I HAD called her earlier and asked if it were a problem if I happened to be late - she asked, How late" (with attitude)? So I arrived at 7:10 for my 6:30 appointment! She was a TOTAL Biatch saying things like let's just hurry and get started; you don't need to explain the doc, just give it to me to sign! She would practically grab it out of my hand! I was so close to walking out and that is hard for me to do. She must have caught onto my now attitude and backed off a bit. AND, disgustingly enough, some goop from her table got on the doc and I had to ask her to remove it!!! She rushed me out the door when we were done. Her daughter came home during the signing and they were talking TV - the BO said she is taping her fav show and not to mess it up. I think I may have been standing between her and her fav TV show!!! I can't even imagine treating a guest like that!!

Anyhow, I got to my 8 p. m. appointment at 9:15. This couple made up for the first two - they said they didn't need to read, just wanted to sign. Mr. BO was very humorous and made the signing so pleasant and fun.

Takes all kinds doesn't it?!!

Awww I remember those days. My EOM was smooth. I didnt have many signings. Which for me is unusual. I usually have at least 9 scheduled but today I only had 5. My 7pm docs didnt arrive till 6:51pm. I told them find someone else. Only issue I had that night. My last signing was 830pm. Went smoothly. Turned down alot of last minute deals or told them they would have to pay an additional $75 for me to complete. Was home at 920p. Went to bed early!

Karla, always remember

You are not a guest in their home.
You are a signing agent working in their home.
True, someone else messed up your schedule, thereby messing up #2's plans.
Some people don't understand or care about what happened to you, they only care about how that affects THEM.
I would have been grateful she just wanted to sign, and I would have bent over backwards to get her signatures in a most expedient manner and make like a goose and get the flock out!
I don't know how long you've been in the field, but from your post, I am sure you weren't in it 2003-2006.
This happened day after day after day after day after....for 4 years for me.
You just learn to smile and apologize and vent on NR.
Smile

<< my Garmin fell off my front window while driving >>

Karla, this used to happen to me all the time and the last time it happened (couple of years ago now) I almost got into an accident. I was going around a tight curve on my way to a signing appointment and at that moment the Garmin fell off the windshield - I instinctively went to grab it and in doing so I shifted the steering wheel which made me go over the line into the opposing lane, where a car was coming. Totally my fault and luckily nothing happened, but I immediately bought one of these friction mounts and I love it:

Thanks for the tip Copperhead - didn't know such a thing existed. I can easily see how your potential accident could happen. Will show my Hubby and see if he is interested. The price isn't too bad. Thanks again!

I don't even mount my GPS. I just put it on the passenger

seat & don't have any problems. ;-)

I have something similar for my Magellan...

like a beanbag bottom for the dash. Love it! Never moves. No more falling GPS. I can't mount my GPS on the window in the winter, the suction cup never adheres.

I know the issue well. After trying velcro and other methods, I just bought the item you talked about as I need the Garmin to get me around.

I Had a 5:30, 6:30 and 8:00 PM. I called the 5:30 Bo and asked if would be any imposition if I arrived (perhaps 30 minutes) late as I was waiting on two other sets of docsfor other closings. "As a matter of fact, it would be a terrible imposition." So it began - I had to turn back the other 2 due to no docs by my cutoff. Get to Bos - she was a Biatch. Rude. Looking over Hud with them. She started spewing that a figure was wrong and included in escrow. They did not sign. Called LO (WF). "Oh- I can get revised docs to you in 1 hour." Not only that, title called me as LO never returned title's call once he said he needed revised docs. I kept title in the loop.

Bos not interested and rescheduled. These folks have been going through loan process since October with WF. Still figures were incorrect. So - my EOM was a huge bust. And they were all in neigboring towns which rarely happens for me. Disappointed to say the least.

I've had similar situations -- unhappy BOs, biotchy BOs, unreasonable BOs, sometimes caused by difficult loan process, sometimes just not nice people. Maybe I'm naive but couldn't someone (LO, Title Co.) give the notary a heads up that he/she may be walking into a tough situation? When they know it's been a tough process?

Just sayin ...

I had one BO last night that felt like he wanted me to be his therapist. While signing docs (after his kids left the room) he breaks down and tells me his woes with his ex wife, divorcing, child abuse, private investigation, ex wife lying to kids, kids hurt and betrayed yada yada yada blah blah blah. Im listening but Im really wishing he would would hurry up and sign because I feel this heavy stuff is not what you tell a complete stranger. I dont get paid enough...I might have to add therapist to my job description and raise my fees....lol

Call me strange, but I love it when BO's share personal stuff - give me insight into their being. I don't generally schedule appointments too close together just in case I do get chatty BO's. But for those that do, it must be a hair-puller!!!

I hear ya about asking for additional fees for therapy sessions!!! LOL!!!

A vm that basically states: "Mrs. Borrower, please return my call by X time. I CANNOT TRAVEL TO THE APPT UNTIL I RECEIVE YOUR RETURN CALL by X time." If she didn't return the call, I would not drive to the appt. Then your 6:30pm and 8pm signings would not have suffered. Never let one signing derail your other appts.
