Email requests for appts?

I am a newbie, and I just received an email from Premier Notary Service stating they have a signing tomorrow, no fax backs and it includes one set of documents. They requested that I email them if I was interested in the closing. My question is, has anyone done work for them? They are out of Florida. Also, is that common to receive an email bcc'd to other people and not a phone call? I don't want to get caught up! Thanks!

Do an orange button search for "Premier Notary." You will get several posts and can read for yourself. They appear to be low-ballers ($65-75 YUK!). One notary seemed to like them but they had a couple of suspicious 5 star ratings in SC.

Generally, blast e-mailed requests for signings are frowned upon by notaries because it usually indicates lo-ballers, but ya' never know. In any case, I understand these are usually snapped up immediately, so if you haven't responded by now, it's probably gone (but ya never know!).

Thanks for the info. One must be glued to their email in order to get these. The signing was 70 miles from me, and yep, they only wanted to pay $65!

I consider those spam. If I don't have an existing relationship with a client, I would never accept an assignment that way. If they call me, then I figure they've checked out my profile first, but I want to have the opportunity to ask them a few questions before accepting an assignment from them - and hopefully check them out here, as well. Reeks of desperation to me...

Sorry I don't remember how Preimer Notary Service got ahold of me, but I have worked for them 3 times in the last month and I am very happy to take work from them. The reason for the $65-75 price is because (for me) I don't usually have to go too far, but these are Quicken Loans and you only have to print one pkg and they are usually under 100 pages. The best thing is you get the doc's emailed to you almost immediatly and with time to go over the paperwork I have never been rushed, even on same day requests. So yes I will take work from them anytime.

blah..technical error..

Wanted to say - with this mindset, no wonder we can't get decent fees.

There is NO excuse for $65-$75 for full package edocs - one page maybe...full refi - I'm sorry, that's just obscene.

I agree with you Linda, if they ever offer a larger package re-fi etc. I will be negotiating a higher fee. I really feel she will pay more for larger packages, I just have not received any as yet.

Re: blah..technical error..

My thoughts exactly, Linda.

I charge $125 for Quicken Loan packages. I'm still giving credit to the SS and having to wait for my money as well as do the same job at the table. I like Quicken Loans, but I am not K-Mart and am not running any 'Blue Light specials' on my valuable services. jmo

It was kinda strange to me. I thought it was spam also. I googled it to find all the info all could on it, especially since it wasn't one that I had signed up with directly. Thanks.

I should probably clarify that I don't think I've received any requests from the company mentioned, but I've received several assorted email and text requests asking if I'm available at such and such a time for this city and "what is your fee?" Like I said, that's not how I will be starting a relationship with a client I've never done business with before.

I received an email request from them yesterday. My reply was that my fee for that type of signing is 3x what they were offering.

Never heard back............
