Sign up with 4 and 5 star companies in Signing Central. It doesn't matter where they are located. Assignments arise wherever the client is located or will be signing if they are on vacation, business travel, temporary work assignment, etc.
Good luck!

Holly, my advice to you is to do what I've been doing
for the last two days
Click on the tab up above marked "Signing Central", then on the signing agency icon, the start working your way down the list, contacting companies and introducing yourself to them, getting signed up with them and letting them know you're available.
Two days..so far...and I've been in this business for 6 years. I took a full time 9-5 last year so had a brief hiatus in signings...now I'm starting all over again. It requires your own footwork and time...lots of time to initially establish...and marketing all the time.
Good luck.

Thank you for the word of the day: enchiridion
I looked it up after Gregory said handbook, manual and was rewarded with a delightful journey, most exceptionally from: http://adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/The_Enchiridion_%28book%29 = it's great fun
and then: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchiridion_of_Epictetus = a bit more enlightening.
These two stuck out the most - thanks for the journey.

Thanks, Juli, and here is what I gleaned from the Wikipedia definition that is most applicable to what we do.
Underlying all of this, however, is the idea that "Some things are up to us and some are not up to us"[1] and we must react and interact with those things accordingly.

How very true; here is where
prior experience is most helpful in that determination.
