Signit-Notary Services (Good One)

I have nor ever will work for this company. However, I received this email this morning which makes me more convinced just to delete their emails:

Signit-Notary Invoices [e-mail address]

11:05 PM (8 hours ago)

to bonnediva, bcc: me

If you have not already done so, please send in your invoices for work done up to Oct 31, so we can pay you. Attached is a copy of an invoice to use. Check will start going out Dec 3, 2012. See below for instruction on how to invoice.

Please note the following information.

All communication with the accounting department must be documented by email. There is NO exception to this rule, so do NOT call with questions regarding invoice and payment.

INVOICE AND PAYMENT PROCEDURE

We are only accepting two (2) emailed (not faxed) invoices per month from each notary on the 1st and 16th of each month. If you invoice earlier than the indicated date, the invoice will be DELETED. Invoices must have the borrower’s first and last name, address, loan number, date of signing, your first and last name, your phone number, your email, the address you want your check delivered, and any pertinent information. Put your first and last name with the invoice period in the subject line of the email. Example: John Doe invoice for 10/1/12 to 10/15/12

For work done from the 1st to the 15th of the current month, you will email your invoice on the 16th of the month for checks to be mailed after the 15th of the next month.

Example: For work done from Oct 1st to the 15th, you will email the invoice on Oct 16th for checks to be sent after Nov 15th.

For work done from the 16th to the end of the month, you will email your invoice on the 1st of the next month for checks to be mailed after the 1st of the month after.

Example: For work done from Oct 16th to the 30th, you will email the invoice on Nov 1st for checks to be sent after Dec 1st.
You are paid:

1. $65 for the first loan doc, and $40 for any other loan docs on the same job appointment.

2. $50 for any other signing without the loan docs like trust cert., quick claims, subordination, etc.

Reasons for payment delay:

1. Not following the guideline in submitting invoices.

2. Having missing or illegible information on the invoice.

3. If there is a discrepancy with the signing, you might be asked to email a copy of the notary journal entry for the job as proof of signing.

4. Having problem(s) and/or making mistake(s) with the signing, causing an investigation/delay in payment.

If your payment is delayed, it could be due to any one of the above mentioned reasons.

This is REALLY funny (LOL)!! They're clueless to the fact that we are independent BUSINESSES and businesses have their own standard operating procedures. Also, they're clueless to the exceptions of any signing that require negotiations, i.e. extended travel distance, extra large packages, fax backs, late night (11pm) or early morning (5am), more than two borrowers (I've had four borrowers in one loan signing, which means additional borrower copy packages).

So that they see how ridiculous their policies are, you could cut and paste the responses to your post in an email to them. Initially, they may not care. But later on, when they cannot fill orders, it may cause them to rethink their rules. I wouldn't be surprised that in addition to invoice and payment procedures, that they fill loan signing orders strictly by email, or that ALL of their communication is by email only - 2 emails only.....ROTHFL!!!

I thought everyone would get a kick out of this one. Good idea about emailing the posts back to them, but again, not worth it to me. Busy enough with my regulars that actually pay what I want and on time. They can just die on their own.

(I've had four borrowers in one loan signing, which means additional borrower copy packages).

Not to me, it doesn't. You're way more generous than I am, Lisa. One borrower copy, no matter how many signers (unless I/you get paid to make extras, of course! And I never have). I have often made a CD as an extra ... also for appraisals, which I don't print (if I catch 'em in time.)

"Generosity" had nothing to do with a business transaction. Those additional borrowers were entitled to receive their copies, and yes, I got paid very well for that signing, to include the extra borrowers copies.

Re: OT

I also charge for extra borrower copies...when you set your prices, it is based on making 1 set, not 2,3, or 4 extra sets...more paper, more toner, more time=more money

My quoted fee includes printing two copies of the docs

one to sign, one for borrowers/signers - additional sets would be more, but the two sets are automatically included.

Linked up.Looks like a new company with no reviews.

Just for laughs, read their IC contract, which by the way I see no mention of this crappy billing system in.
Items 6,12,15 and 16 in particular are an interesting read.IMHO I don't think they spent much(any) on a professional to draft this agreement.

You wonder about working with a company that

can't even get "Quit Claim" right...

"quick claims"

That's all you need to know right there to know you should NEVER accept an assignment from them.... the rest of it just reinforces it and sure made for a fun laugh.
