So what would you do?

Have a signing scheduled in 1 hour and 15 minutes and the only phone no. that is given for the borrower (same no. on the 1003) says "this no. is not taking calls right now". Been trying for 2 days Trip is 42 miles ONE way Still have not printed docs.
Hummmm Fee $125 but if I go anyway and he is not there then less

Try texting that number...sometimes they just don't answer

calls. Let them know you will not be making the trip without hearing from them first. Contact your party or LO if you know their number, let them know your arrangements. I'll bet the LO reaches them.

Call the hiring party...

But I would Google brws name to get an updated phone number first.
Or, use 411.com reverse address to get phone number on record.

I wouldn't make that distance of travel without making certain someone would be there unless hiring party agreed to 100% of fee if it ends up being a no-show.

Re: Call the hiring party...

thanks guys The signing company who hired me has been tryinig to get a good no. for two days - been to 411, reverse lookup and tried couple of pigeons with a message but so far no success. Well one thing about it - when 1:00 comes along and if he is expecting me and I am a no show maybe then he will cut his phone back on and call his lo etc.
We shall see. Hate it when this happens.

Verify with the hiring party that you will get full fee for the trip regardless if the borrower is there and signs or not. Wouldn't leave my office unless full fee.

I agree with everyone...I would not print nor would I

go without making contact with borrower - UNLESS I'm guaranteed full fee no matter what.

I could not have cut it this close here as a 42 mile trip, for me, takes about 45-50 minutes. If I don't have docs 2 hours prior to then it's a reschedule for me...

Good Luck.

Re: I agree with everyone...I would not print nor would I

So I kept calling and finally about 15 minutes before the appt I finally reached him. He had cut his phone back on. Anyway I told him that I, of course, would not be there as scheduled and so we confirmed - I printed and headed out. Really nice couple - very kind to work with.
It all worked out well.
