Title work has stopped since Sandy
Last nights signing was by flashlight, was told they had power but nope. Refi business is on hold I think till everyone is back up with power in Ocean and Monmouth and people get back on a normal track.
One thing that has picked up is GNW, at least some cash flow. Toms River Post Office is still under water and had to call vendors find out if payments issued and had to have them cancel checks and re issue them.
Jersey Strong, one day at a time.

I'm in Monmouth County. We haven't had power since 8pm on Monday night. It's impossible to get around. There are two-three hour waits for gasoline. detours all over. I'm not accepting anything till I have power. And when I do, it won't be near the shore. There are some areas in Toms River that you have to show i.d. that you live in that area to get in. I've only seen pictures online and it's heart breaking.

I am in Union county. No power since Monday night at 6 pm....and no gas as we all know in NJ....Calls have subsided, because (1) borrowers cannot be reached (2) loans probably need reappraisals ...I also have no mail except junk.... Until I have power and the gas rationing is manageable, I am very, very cautious about accepting closings....We can expect a very slow November.....

Hate to say it, but all the refi's and home sales that were scheduled before the storm and have been impacted by the storm are on hold, as they all have to be inspected again for damages. Inspectors I am sure are so busy, they may not be able to get out for weeks now, as probably have a priority list. No lender will lend on a house in the storm's path that has possible damages. Hang in there. Good luck.
