Anything recent on ALO?
I got an email from them earlier asking about my availability for a signing tomorrow morning. I haven't worked for this company in 3 1/2 years (and did very few back then), so I wasn't in any rush to respond - and my phone has been ringing off the hook in the interim. It was probably filled by the time I saw the message, but regardless, I wouldn't accept a signing this way from someone whom I've had no relationship with for that long and without any mention of fee.
They've had decent ratings in the past, but the last one mentioned something about a problem with payment. You never know when it's just one negative mention amongst good ones (although not recent) and I'd normally be at least open to considering giving a co like that a shot, if I was available - and if they called me so that I could ask some questions. An email leads me to believe they're trying to sneak by the normal process and doesn't leave me with any "warm fuzzies"...
Just thought I'd throw this out there.

I do a couple a month for her, confirm says payment between 15-30 day it is more like 40 days depending when she does check runs. You will get paid, avg fee is $100.00. She gets tons of CHASE loans.

It appears to me there is no difference in accepting an assignment by email, Western Union, telephone, smoke signal, overnight courier, Pony Express, or whatever. They ask if you are available, you say "Yes," they say they have an assignment at $XX, and you say "Okay," or, "Well, I actually have an appointment to get my eyebrows plucked at the time of your $XX assignment." What is the problem?
I've gotten enough of those inquiries that my own eyebrows are looking pretty slick nowadays.

Problem is that before I accept a signing from a company that's not one of my regulars, I like to talk to them in person and ask a few questions. Turns out I didn't have time to respond to them and I'm now booked for the time they mentioned (probably for more than they would have paid). Doesn't mean I think they're a bad apple (although I wondered after reading the last rating about them), just that I prefer to get a phone call unless a company is one of my regulars.
I have one today and another one tomorrow for a tc that shoots me an email with a name, city, and phone #, asking me if I can fit it in by such and such a day, then ships me the docs. Love that client! But we have established terms and an ongoing relationship so I know exactly what to expect - and I always get paid a very fair fee within a week or so. That's a completely different story!
