CHASE CRASHES

How many Chase's have you had recently where no docs ever showed up?

I've had 5 in the last week.

I'm considering either refusing them altogether of surcharging all of them by some factor.

OK --things happen every now and then and no docs show up. I understand that.

But it appears this is happening with regularity with Chase and a couple of others.

And, given the numbers of loans where docs don't show up at all...there appears to be

something amuk somewhere.

Appears to be something amuk?

Let's face it...there IS something wrong.

And maybe I'm blowing in the wind complaining about it....but the quantity of loans where

docs don't show up seems to be growing exponentially.

It's enough to make HisHughness and I split the cost of a bottle of bourbon and drink it all.

I have had a flurry of Chase signings

over the past few weeks. Documents are generally emailed within 1.8 hrs. prior to the appointment time. I require documents 2 hrs. before scheduled appointment, and always state this during the confirmation of the assignment and will send a reminder email 2 -3 hrs. ahead of time to the EO or like representative. Otherwise, I will not be able to fulfill the commitment and another notary nees to be assigned.

Re: I have had a flurry of Chase signings

I too have had a larger than normal number of Chase orders. Over the past 3 weeks 50% have cancelled and for the rest, the documents were late. These were from multiple title companies, not just one. This past Friday I got the documents at 5:15 PM for a 4 PM signing. The signing ultimately took place at 6 PM. I don't print and run, so it had to wait until I checked the documents. This was not a good thing to happen on a Friday evening even if it isn't month end. Am thinking of not taking any more Chase signings.

Two of them this week. For one of them, escrow told me they had tried contacting Chase about the missing documents but they were incommunicado all day. The other one happened today, and I could not contact anyone in escrow. Even the after hours number did not work. I had no choice but to call the number to the scheduling department because that line is open on Sat. mornings and I was told that the title company has had many instances of difficulties with getting docs for HARP loans. And I was also told by some folks at the title company that according to Chase rules, we are not allowed to tell the borrowers that a signing has been cancelled.

So then does anyone tell them or do they just let the BO waste a day sitting around thinking its going to take place?

If I was refinancing and no one called me, Id be highly upset and would not continue with that company.

1st time turned back signing 2 weeks ago

For the 1st time in 5 years, I decided to turn back a signing. Because of late docs. Surprise, surprise, it was a Chase. Finally reached end of tolerance for late docs. Now, I've decided that for every package I receive less than 3 hours before scheduled signing, I'm going to tell Title I will notify BO that I will be that much later in meeting with them. I no longer am going to "print and run". I am now going to refuse to give up the time I need to review docs and instructions (and find all those pages with the initial requirements). Without my review time, chances increase that I might miss something at the table. So, Mr. Title Co., you are so free about passing your new/additional requirements onto us, here are MY requirements!

Re: 1st time turned back signing 2 weeks ago

Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only one experiencing this problem with Chase! I too have tried, many times, to get the title company to get the documents to me AT LEAST two hours before signing. This last time I just gave up and told them if the docs are late, guess what I'm going to be late to the borrowers house. I CANNOT teleport myself to their residence the instant I receive the docs, without even reviewing them.

So if the docs do come in late I have already prepped the borrowers that things are running late with the lender docs and will keep them informed of my arrival. They appreciate that and are not fuming when I arrive. They know its not my fault. Plus once they see how many pages I have in my folder they understand its going to be a long session :-(

Re:Another thing I hate about CHASE CRASHES

I have had a lot of them scanned the wrong size. 11x8.65. What is up with that. I want to call and yell FIX this cr%p every time. Is there anyway we can demand that the doc's get sent the right size. We have to print them the right size or else. I report it every time now.

I believe that is Executive size

so whoever is scanning them in is not picking the correct size and is clueless, nooooooooo.
but you try to be that clueless.

I am thinking about "boycotting" Chase loan signings for about a month to allow them to get their act together!

Last week was a nightmare! Went straight to the closing per title's instructions in order to make the appointed time instead of printing in advance only to wait for title to send the documents at the branch without passcodes for the branch to open the documents and download. That happened at least 3 times last week alone. One signing I had to leave and later return in order to complete two other signings in which docs were ready (and I am expecting a trip fee for returning to complete said signing). Another on was an early AM closing, a 40 minute drive, in which I received docs about 15 mins before the scheduled appointment. The borrower asked to reschedule for later that day, which was fine, but I was not available. Another borrower asked to reschedule after I told him I was running late with, of course, late arrival of documents.

And as much as the Chase folks may want to fault the title companies or signing services, in fact, it was Chase who I am sure is primarily responsible for these late and missing documents, as they are the common denominator. I work with several entities from which I receive Chase loans and it was the same thing.....late or no documents.

Someone mentioned old CountryW loans....

same thing. i used to be told the loans are all in a que to be sent and when you get it you get it. they simply don't care and as we know neither did CW. there has to be a better way but again, they don't care. if all the bo's walked they might start caring.

The borrowers aren't going to walk - they have already invested 3-6 mos. of time just getting to the table many times. Fed up, but onward they go. It is a shame.
