E-notariations
I am not sure what the demand is for E notarizations. Can someone tell me what the process is and the demand.
Thanks

I've been monitoring that for the last two years. I finally saw the demand was enough for me to make the investment.

Re: I came to the conclusion that there is not enough
business to warrant the cost. Looking on the "search" button I found that really busy notaries were doing about 4 per month. As I understand it signing companies are not willing to pay more citing the fact that you save on paper. I'd want more to pay for the cost of do them. Hope this helps.

E-notarziations are not the same as e-signings
I believe e-notarizations involve keeping an electronic journal instead of a paper journal.

Thanks for all of your feedback. So for these enotarizations obviously you need a mobile computer to bring with you. Would an ipad suffice? Obviously you are not providing customers with document copies. What about RTC? You would need mobile internet which may be difficult in some rural areas.

You are talking about e-signings, not e-notarizations
It sounds like you are talking about e-signings, where the closing is done online and the borrower clicks to accept the terms of the document and an electronic signature is entered for the borrower on those docs. In addition to the e-sign docs, the notarized docs are usually printed and wet signed. I don't do e-signs any more - not enough requests for me to justify the aircard expense. The last one I did was a couple of years ago and I used my laptop with the borrower's wi-fi access.

why not search here for "e-signings"
You'll gain a better understanding of what's involved and required. You'll ALSO learn the difference between e-docs, e-notarization and e-signings....3 entirely different concepts.
You may be able to do e-signings but may not be authorized, qualified or commissioned to do e-notarizations.

Re: E-notarziations are not the same as e-signings
E-notarization means the acknowledgement and/or jurat is an electronic document with the notary's electronic signature and , if applicable, electronic seal (however a given state defines that).
Some state that allow electronic notarizations also require electronic journals, but not always. There is no particular reason why a paper journal can't be used with an electronic notarization.

Well it doesn't sound like it's worth the bother or expense. Thanks for the info.

I think you intended this post for E-Signings. E-notarizations are not happening in CA.
E-signings used to be more common, but not any more. Flagstar's esignings have dropped by the wayside. I will always have an aircard no matter what, I don't have cable or high speed internet at home but I live in Verizon country, so aircard is better than my satellite dish, particularly in stormy season.
E-signings for me are kind of a pain, too lengthy, SS's don't want to pay what it's worth, I don't accept them any more unless the scheduler is on their knees and is willing to make it worth my time, expertise, and effort.
I haven't had a request for one in months, maybe even all year.

I use to have a Sprint aircard but the cost of $70.00 per month was not justified. I recently purchased Walmart's Internet-On-The-Go Mobile Hotspot. I paid $100.00 for the Hotspot and I bought 1000 MegaBytes for $45.00. There is no monthly fee and the MBs never expire as long as the service is used at least once a year. It really saved me at EOM from having to run home between signings to print docs because they were late.

So you have a printer in your car and you can use your phone with the mobile hot spot to down load the docs to your printer - yes? How many docs do you estimate you can print with what you purchased?
