East coasters
Pay attention to the weather. After going 5 days without power last July, prepare, prepare prepare. You have time.

Yes, that was Horrible, wasn't it? Lots of people lost their food and their sanity during that outage. Trying to find ice was like trying to find gold!

Looks like it could get pretty bad here at the coast.
This won't be the first storm I wasn't well prepared for because of focusing on EOM. Still have one tomorrow morning, but will do what I need to do to get prepared after that. Last I heard they were calling for like 10 inches of rain & high winds. Frankly, it would be a good chance for me to catch up on some sleep. ;-)

If I listened to the talking heads I would hibernate great
chunks of my life while others were enjoying theirs. Remember - their job is to generate news so they can justify being on the air 24/7. Weather is not precise.

Preparing here in NJ...We are expecting it to be worse that Irene. Ironically the dechero that hit us in July was worse than Irene if you ask me. Unlike the dechero, we get to prepare for this one. I recall many of us having a conversation back in July about how do you and your business respond to natural disasters...While we never want to have disaster, here's our opportunity to fine tune our natural disaster plans for our businesses.

Have been hearing out here on the west-coast news about the gi-normouse storm coming to the east coast. Hope is turns out to be much milder than anticipated. Take care everyone. Will be watching and thinking of you.

we figure it is really going to mess up halloween night. we didn't get much of Irene last year but my bud in NJ got killed, she is still repairing roofs, etc. from big trees that feel on the house. we are inland enough and God gives us enough snow to put up with.

I hate it when the weather forecasters specify my shire town, Rutland, by name. We have our own name for what happened to Rutland in 2007, "Norricane", and the prediction is a repeat. But I shouldn't complain, we'll probably get off easier than other parts of the Northeast.
