Funny Signing Company Request

One of my regular signing companies calls me....."Peggy can you do a signing for us tonight in Apple Valley with an open time?" Sure.....no problem I tell her.....I have three other signings I need to get done first.....but since it is right here in my town......I will get it fit in for you. "Great.....I will send it over for you.....it's on XXXXX street and the zip code is 92307". Wait a minute I said.....92307......that's California I think......I'm in Minnesota......Apple Valley Minnesota.....I bet that closing is for Apple Valley California. "Oops.....thank you Peggy.....I will call one of the California notaries". I thought it was funny.....and what made it even funnier is that she's in California. I wonder how many other times this happens for same name cities and towns.

Happens to me all the time when I hear Apple Valley, actually. That's one of the high desert cities out my way (relatively). I always forget that's kind of a big area in Minnesota, too.

One I get a kick out of is when I get requests to go to Hinkley... that little town made famous by Erin Brockovich. The schedulers always say, "Is that a real place?" I tell them that it is.... and they always say, "Is it safe for you to go there? Are you going to get cancer?"

Every. Single Time.

The problem I get is that we have many vacation homes in the area. They'll send me a refi for a home in the area, and when I call the borrower, I find out they live in another state *laughs*.
