Halloween
Have any NotRotters gone to a signing on Halloween in costume? I'm thinking of dressing up as something scary or even disgusting, like a Predatory Lender, Wall Street Tycoon, Broken Down Signing Agent, now living on skid row? ;>)

Nope.
I wouldn't do that. I want them to take me seriously. This is a serious business.

You are joking, aren't you??
The thought of it is kinda funny, though.
Unfortunately, we don't know our borrowers until we meet them and some may not appreciate it.

Why not masquerade as a confident, intelligent notary?

You are signing your own suicide note doing that. Many Christians for one do not celebrate Halloween, but rather Fall Festival, and you have to look professional at all times.

Don't even think it
We don't participate in Holloween at my household, as many people don't, many for religious reasons.
If I was expecting a professional to come to my door and they came in costume, I'd cancel the signing and contact the hiring agency a complaint.
Would you be carrying a pail and begging for candy too?

I believe Tacoma Boy Was Joking!
I actually found the post to be quite funny this morning as I was dashing out the door for a couple of signings picturing Tacoma Boy shopping for predatory lender costume or broken down notary costume among all the princess, spiderman, and Lady Gaga costumes that filled the racks. Where does one find a costume like that?

Sometimes I wish
Sometimes I wish that I had a tiara that said "Notary" and a magic wand thingy, since they think we are going to perform magic when we stamp the docs. (I would wear it with my professional outfit, of course.)
