Has anyone installed Office 2010 download and had printer

problems after that. I downloaded the trial and after that lost ability to output to my LJ4250N. Error was that I did not have printer driver. Installed printer driver again but seemed to be more of a spooler problem. Had to print docs for a couple of closings so I just removed and did a system restore to before software download. All was okay. Any ideas anyone?

The printer driver for Office 2010 is different from the other versions. Have you considered getting "open office" instead? It is similar to Word, but is a free program for Windows modified from the original linux software.

No printer problems? Can you open Word files in open office. I am not so concerned about creating the files as much as opening files. I have office 2003 and it works fine for me just thinking about the future. My priorities of course is that I can print docs for loan signings. Smile

I googled and see there was a problem with 2010 office and printers. I don't want to "figure it out" if I don't have to.

Then use Word 2003 (I'm still there) or Open Office, also good for your purposes. Like you, "I don't want to "figure it out" if I don't have to."

I had mixed results with Open Office and went back to Office

I did have some printer issues, but I think it has to do with my Windows upgrade.

Got it fixed by a consultant who worked remotely and troubleshoots.

Ultimately, yes, I just needed another driver--easy to download from the manufacturer's website.

My recommendation is to install word, uninstall your printer drivers, restart and then re-install new drivers.

Thanks for the responses

Yeah. I think I am just going to stick with Office 2003 for a while. I have had my share of printer problems. Everything is working and I am done with "curiousity" for a while. I just want to print my docs and go. Some day when I feel my life is too calm, I'll try it again. I think it is more than the driver... I think the printer has to be reinstalled for some reason. I don't know. Later.

I do thank you.
