Hurricane

I've had nine closings cancel on me this week due to the hurricane.. And my phone hasn't rang at all the last 2 days.my area hasn't been hit that bad but I know the surrounding areas have my prayers go out to all those in the devastated areas!! Has it slowed down everywhere or is it just my area

Thanks for feedback makes me feel better I had 4 scheduled day of hurricane until the state shut down the highways and closing company/ borrower wanted me to go anyway I had to draw the line. I even had a second borrower firefighter at that ask me to meet his wife to sign then Meet him at his work when I asked if his wife could meet us there as well he said no my wife is not driving in this weather.. Nice... Love the respect... Thankfully the lender cancelled. The last 4 months I've been slammed and have to turn down closings left and right 20 closings a week is plenty for me...so to go from that to nothing is hard...

Sabrina, what weather? Your post indicates you're

in Florida...which I thought didn't get much more than high surf and some winds...

Where are you located in Florida that you were so severely impacted? Just curious..

Re: Sabrina, what weather? Your post indicates you're

I'm central Connecticut. I was in Florida until last year. Amazingly I've been busier here than I was in fl. I'm not used to going a day without Closings and to have 9 cancel is a bit rough!! Although I know it could be much worse so not to underestimate what others have to deal with..

Oh..okay.that explains it - and so glad to see you post

and see you're okay!!

We moved from the CT shoreline and that where our daughter and grandkids live now...from what I've heard our old neighborhood was under water...and I've seen the pics from up there (watched the Channel 8 website) - such destruction!!

Best of luck to you up there.

That's terrible to here!! The destruction along CT coast, NY & NJ is unbelievable... I wish your family safety as well. The last year New England has been hit by 2 hurricanes a nasty tornado & noreastern that has left the state powerless for a week. Hopefully this winter won't be as bad as they are predicting otherwise I'll be vacationing in fl. Wink

Yes, saw quite a few cancellations these last couple of

days. It was unbelievable that I got 5 calls on Monday, and told them I wasn't working.
This was a big storm, with many areas affected at varying levels. I've heard some under-reaction & over-reaction, of course.
Since this was funding day and someone posted that not all the pkgs. got back it will take days for things to recover, IMO. Let's remember that there are many tc's, lenders, etc. that are probably without power.

This will have a huge impact on my business for months

Areas under water, gas, electric out for at least 10 more days or longer. Food and gas in short supply. Insurance will take years to iron out and rebuild the shore area. Irene claims in court now say it will take 5-10 years to resolve.

Have a signing set for tonight, still have not heard from BO and need to hear back before I travel. I have no idea if they have power or what.

Be sure to take some candles or flash light! All the best, Mike. Well, should create some jobs along the way!
