I liked to clone this notary assignment
Got a call today from a bank officer and asked if I could get 2 signatures on a Trust Certificate which needed to be done in a restruant ( 2 miles away) in 4 hours.
I was thinking $75 ( Riverside CA) would be good, but, I try to never negotiate against myself, so I asked my usual question "what do you usually pay for this type of assignment")?
She said how about $200 and I said I would do it for that fee .
Try to never offer up a fee when a client/title/lender/etc calls the 1st time.
I learned my lesson almost 10 years ago to "keep my mouth shut" and get an offer from them.

Hugh Bank officers don't read notroty; signing companies/and some title companies do.

Exactly, I was paid a hefty fee from a TC tonight for a very last minute refi. 121 pages, 10 miles away. I didn't even get a chance to ask, he just said it pays $180. Jaw dropping YES. The only bad thing is the Cardinals are playing in the playoffs and Mrs could not keep her eyes on the table. Actually none of us could but we got er done. Go Cards.

Yup! I learned to never state a number first because I
Always inevitably leave money on the table.

YAY!
Good for you.! Your friend Kelley R. taught me that tip years ago, and I can say that 90% of the time, they quote a fee higher than I would have expected or asked for.

Wow! Joan, must be in the air. I had a couple like that this week too. Nice, beats the heck out of $100 hour long signings, huh>
Keep on truckin' girlfriend. Happy EOM.
