Insured Closings...

...I've accepted numerous assignments from this company over the past year & while I've experienced slow pay (always been paid, but 2+ months is the norm), it now appears they MAY not be paying at all. I received a check on 09/27/2012 for three closings from June & July & today my credit union notified me the check has been returned for insufficient funds. A phone call took me to their voice mail (during normal business hours) stating the office is closed. The message leaves you a prompt for questions during a signing, but it's immediately routed to an individual's cell phone voice mail box. Just a "heads up" to the rest of you & yes, I knew there were issues with Insured Closings prior to taking their assignments. In my 11 years this could be my first "stiffing"...we'll see.

You Sure Are A Brave Soul.....

....first of all for taking signings from a company that has had such a bad history of paying their notaries......and second of all for posting about it.

I've signed for them in the past.....not so much anymore with all this check bouncing business. I can handle a slow pay at times......but a no pay is definitely not acceptable. I think this company might finally be seeing it's final days.

You probably received the voice mail because they don't have the manpower to handle all the pissed off notaries calling in for their darn money. Keep calling until you get a live person. Let them know that you have been signing for them for a long time and they need to get you your money today. Talk to Sue or Miranda and make them take care of it at that moment. It is better to call in the morning when the Accounts Payable lady is there.

Good luck to you Dennis. I don't think you're going to get stiffed, but you are going to go through a lot of work to get your check.

Not Necessarily "Brave"...

...as I've been using my own judgement when it comes to companies like this for over 11 years now. I also have no qualms about posting on my experiences when I believe it will help others. As far as "keep calling" goes, the voice mail message said their office was "closed"...in the middle of the afternoon. That's not the same as a "busy" message. I've sent an e-mail message & will follow up with them tomorrow, multiple times if necessary. Thanks for the best wishes in this endeavor. I'll post on the outcome, good or bad.

Re: check the title company who assigned business

check on the title company who assigned the business to insured and go direct to them with copy of invoice to lender is also an idea

Received an E-Mail Reply This AM...

...from Sue with Insured Closings who states: "The check is good and can definitely be re-submitted." She also wrote they will reimburse for any fees I may incur. We'll see...
