LSI email changes
Did anyone else get the email where they state that October 15th they will be using a new email format? The attachment that they sent along with the email which is supposed to help those of us that use internet explorer doesn't work for me. I can't even open it. Anyone else?

No problem here. I'm using Internet Explorer 8.0.6001............. The attachment opened and I followed the step-by-step directions, without difficulty.

There have been a large number of warnings that using IE8 will expose you to more viruses, malware, etc. I suggest using IE9! I also recommend a Google search of why IE8 is having these issues because of too many security holes in the software.
I only use IE when absolutely necessary (government and other companies that will not work with anything else). There have also been warnings about don't use IE8 for bank because of the security issues.

Well, I solved one problem. Thank you Sue! I use Google Chrome for gaming but never thought to use it for my regular emails etc. As soon as I used it as the search engine I could open the attachment. Next week will be scary if things don't go smoothly!! Thanks to all!!

I had no problems opening the attachment. Followed all the directions. Seems to be okay. Remains to be seen whether all goes well with that first email beginning tomorrow.

I have IE8 on a laptop used only for bookkeeping purposes. I do not go online for web browsing or email on that laptop. No online banking, nothing online! The laptop has XP as the operating system and microsoft will no longer support XP after 2014 and IE9 will not work on XP.
Also, this laptop has a linux partition that I go online with. It is harder to get viruses or malware on Linux.
Therefore, for some people the choice is to upgrade to IE9 or upgrade the operating system when Windows 8 comes out.
If I had an Apple computer, I would have a Windows partition so that I could run PC programs too.
Another way is to visit "safesurf.com" and see if you are able to use this on your computer. It allows the use of another persons computer, but the data does not stay on that computer. I find it is great when I take my laptop to a free wi-fi site and want to surf without fear (this includes airports).

Please correct "surfeasy.com" to "surfeasy.com"

I've made all the Internet Explorer changes directed by LSI and I can't open the site. I have a 10AM signing on Monday for LSI with no documents, so I emailed LSI of the secure site situation. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I have a neighbor who is an IT freak and when I tried to email him I found out I had to disable many standard features of my computer. Told him "no thanks", I'll just wave when I see you.
