LSI - hopelessly backlogged
FOUR loans have fallen thru with LSI since Friday. They cannot get a document package out to save their souls. I just had a round with a processor who said "if you don't like the wait, don't take our loans", and "it isn't our job to notify the notary about delays" and a half dozen more unbelievable phrases. I was so fired up I called and asked to speak to a supervisor.
And then they wonder why some notaries double-book?

Wow...I just posted earlier about late docs this morning for another client. I was fielding calls all morning from BO and Lender furious.

Re: LSI - things that make ya go "hmmm"
A fellow notary in town is refinancing and closing tomorrow - he requested me and I'm available (he gave me a heads up on Monday) - they never called me - just found out they assigned it to a notary in the next county over. Duh?

That is interesting especially when there was a request.

<< "it isn't our job to notify the notary about delays" >>
That is one of the frustrating things about LSI - they do not notify you of any delays. It's up to the notary to call and ask about docs. Very frustrating.
And to this comment << "if you don't like the wait, don't take our loans" >> Well all I have to say to LSI is that can be arranged!

HMMM
my bet is that info was passed to the lo for you to do the closing and the lo never insisted that it get done at the lsi end. i just don't think lsi cares either way and the lo fell down on it. just a guess.

LSI
I drove 30 minutes to a closing. Couldn't find their home on the gps and called (i was around the corner) they said the closing was cancelled ! LSI didn't even tell me. They paid me a small trip fee.

Re: LSI
I really don't understand this. We're the ones expected to call to confirm an appt that we already confirmed?? I haven't been doing this long enough to see much of this, but I don't think I could make it a long career if this kind of lack of consideration is the norm for this industry. Says a lot about how our value is perceived, IMO
And me (the 1-person shop with my own endless overhead) is supposed to be concerned about THEIR recording fees for extra docs when they have so much business that a notary can be swept under the table like it was nothing?? I don't think so . . .

Re: LSI
I don't understand what is going on with them lately. I get 2 calls for closings but never get a confirmation. I tried calling and emailing to no avail and waited for almost 30 minutes on the phone then finally hung up. I have never had this type of problem. Never let me know about one that was cancelled. I had to call them and they were to call me back but never did. I finally had to hear from the borrowers lender. Backed up or no backed up they need to keep us in the loop or we will all get frustrated and not take any of their calls.

LSI hasn't called for a while. Are they still limiting refi with edocs to $100, with no additional fee for a long drive?

Most of the time it is $100. I did one last night at $125, and one a couple weeks ago at $200 for distance. Usually it's for remote areas where they can't find anyone else.

I have had to turn down every signing in my area they have offered lately due to time conflicts. Sounds like I am not missing out on anything.
