Loose Ack/Jurat pages or Ack/Jurat Stamps
As my new NP business is picking up and I begin to gather materials, I'd like to hear from experienced people which is preferable -- loose pages or stamps. Thank you.

I have a jurat stamp...don't have an ack stamp. For non-compliant wording, I use the jurat stamp when there is room on the doc for both the jurat stamp and seal. I add a loose certificate when there isn't. For non-compliant acks, I add a loose certificate.

I typed each and saved in my computer. I print them out as needed.

You definitely need loose certificates of both types and should always have a supply with you. A jurat stamp is very helpful - in addition to the loose certs - but an ack stamp...? Not sure you'll find too many opportunities where you'll be able to fit it on the page. I've never bothered getting one, but others may disagree.

From what I've read, the best practice is that when you use a loose certificate, the paper size should be the same as the document it is attached to. So you need four kinds of loose papers on hand, jurat on letter, jurat on legal, ack on letter, ack on legal.

Rowsy - I am a Notary Public in California; what I do is
have many loose certificates, (Jurats and Acknowledgments) I only use Letter size loose certificates. If the document holder requires a notarization on a legal sized page, they will provide that page. I keep on hand letter sized Jurats and acknowledgments.

In a pinch you can always hand write the certificate wording if you lack a stamp or loose page. Of course, I'd only recommend that option if you'd got legible printing skills.
