I'm sure you'll sail right through it. Best wishes. Hope your recovery is as smooth as the surgery will go! Prayers and best wishes.

You'll be in my thoughts, Shosh. But I'm puzzled: How could any dentist improve on that smile?

You're so sweet Hugh! My problems started after that picture was taken. I decided to go to a local dental school for care. That was the worst thing! Even Mexico was better! LOL!

I, too, have been there and done that and can relate to how you are feeling. The fear of the unknown is harsh but it is often worse than the actual. I will be wishing for comfort in your fears and a painless procedure and recovery.
My dentist has the option of a "cocktail" to make you "sleepy." I go to sleep and wake when it is over. I go home and take a long nap and wake up feeling great! No experiencing the Novocain wearing off. It has totally taken away my fear of going to the dentist. Does your dentist have this option?

I am having a general anesthesia. I have never had that for a dental proceedure before. The procedure I think takes 2-2 1/2 hours. Then there's another couple hours for the implants. I am awake for that (they promise to keep my comfortable). So, yes, it is fear of the unknown. I figure I got through bilateral total knee replacements (both knees at same time) 4 1/2 years ago. I guess I can do this too!
