Printer Properties in French?

I recently lost my beloved printer and I just got a Canon MF6540 through Craigslist. It will get me by and is working like a champ (and came with 3 brand new toners! Smile ) I had a bit of difficulty getting it installed on my sad little Vista laptop. I have it up and running now and it is printing and scanning beautifully. My only problem is this: when I attempt to use the properties on the printer, they are in French. I don't speak the language and can not figure out how to change my preferences. Any suggestions? TIA

Hopefully, this will work.

Try the following and see if this works:

1. Press Additional Functions
2. Use the Left or Right Arrows to advance to different menus
3. Press OK once you find the setting needed; possibly Languages (Langues) or System Settings (les paramètres du système)
4. Once inside the menu, use the Left or Right Arrows again to advance to different menus and see look for English and Press OK.
5. Press Stop to return to Standby mode.

Hopefully this will work for you as it was found in the manual on pages 12-4 to 12-9.
Good luck.

Re: Hopefully, this will work.

Printer and LCD displays are on English. It's jus when I attempt to use the printer properties for the dialogue box. (Duplex, paper select, etc--and I suspect that's where the language change would be

You might have to re-install the printer

And choose English as the language.
Had to do this with a Brother, and this was the way I had to do it.

I have a brother printer and had this problem only with the Infraview program I use for scanning. Even though everything was set up for english, it showed french for the scanning portion. Reinstalled several times, made sure english was chosen. No change. Learned thru experimentation what the words meant. All of a sudden, one day, it changed to english! I swear the machines know what they are doing and are driving us all crazy!

I've uninstalled and re-in stalled 3 times. I think I'll just use the google translator to figure it out and leave it. Thanks for the hope...I've had stuff like that happen before. I remember as a little girl I was afraid to put in simple computations into my first calculator (like 2 x 2) because I was afraid my calculator would think I was a dummy Big Smile
