Question for IL notaries
I've signed a few auto refinance loans but its been a while back. The few that I have done have been in a public place (Subway and McDonalds). I vaguely remember the company telling me that IL law is that it has to be signed in a public place and not a place of residence. I've spent the last hr googling and cannot find anything stating this. Can anyone direct me to it or prove me wrong? Thanks

Hi Linda, I usually see a form in the doc package which includes a list of where they are not allowed to be signed. I have not had to think much about why.
Hope things are well with you!! :0)

Hi Tonya. They are O/N the docs to me. I will look for that form.
I'm good and hope things are going well for you and your family, esp your sis.

I think the rule is the lender's. Even if I am wrong, the theory is that the borrower/seller/buyer is not being blackjacked into something in their own homes.
